I had an auction listed and I always state 8.00 S/H since I do priority and new boxes, bubble wrap, and peanuts. The packages are 3-4lbs, so it is about right.

But I just closed an auction on a doll, and I was only sent 5.00 for shipping by Paypal, even though the auction says 8.00.

Should I send an email requesting more or let it go? The actual shipping was 5.40. I don't want to cause a negative. . .but I barely made profit on this doll to begin with.

What would you do?

HI,
I had that happen once,
I wrote $7.00
To ship and the person sent $5.00
I asked if she would agree to have it shipped
In a envelope instead of a box and
First class mail instead of priority,
She agreed, another person wanted to send
The extra $0.95 , with paypal,
So I paid $0.40 just to receive it,
(I said no and he sent it anyway)
So I only got $0.45 out of that whole effort,so ask her/him if she agrees to slower shipping so you dont have to pay for it from your own pocket,
Or tell her / him gently about the mistake
And that you will get them next time they bid
On your auctions (but I wouldnt do that if it's not a repear customer
Since the shipping is $5.40
You will loose about $1.00
Plus what ever your cost is on the wrapping
But remember no matter how much they send with paypal you have to pay fees so at some point is better to eat the cost of shipping
Then fees from PayPal twice.
If you send it anyway and send them a nice email
Pointing out the mistake and that you sent it out at your own cost you might get a super nice feedback ...

A woman bid and won on one of my items. It took her a month to send payment. Wouldn't you know there was no shipping included. I emailed her, told her that I had received the initial payment and that in order to mail the item she needed to send the shipping costs. It took her 1 and 1/2 months to send it to me. I stood my ground. I was not going to mail back her initial payment. I think sometimes people do this so you will mail their money back and then they can say you backed out of the transaction. I had a buyer do this to me another time and he had over 400 feedback and was a seller. Unfortunately at that time I was a relatively new seller and was very uncomfortable holding his money for a long period of time. I returned his money and the transaction was over. He certainly was sly and I learned a little.
