Hi All,

We have a clear-cut, smoking gun in hand, case of auction interference against us that we just turned into Safeharbor.

Our question is, what does Ebay do in such cases? We provided copies of all correspondence from this nutcase to Ebay including their libelous and slanderous email that they sent to several of our bidders (one of which has retracted their bid because of this loony tune).

Has anyone had any experiences they can share?

Thanks, as always, for all your sage wisdom!

If the person doing this is an active eBay member, there should be something eBay can do to that person's buying and selling priviledges.

If this person is simply a SPAMMER, there's not much eBay can do to help you other than suggest you change your identity on eBay.

Unfortunately, it's not that difficult to obtain a member's (and bidders) email addresses without actually being an eBay member.

Good luck

ebay will email you to admit they have received your request and will tell you they have taken action and they will not tell you what action they take.
then another email follows to ask you to rate their service.
there are aw members who have been disciplined by ebay, may be they will share their experience with you??
i think the offender is warned the first time .

RB, the offender is a current Ebay member with a very respectable feedback rating in the 700+ range (mostly buying).

We kinda figured we would get the obligatory form letter acknowledging from Ebay receipt, yada yada. We just wondered if anyone had experience on the end result.

Thanks and keep 'em coming.

Hi HarmonyGrove ...

I assume eBay will want the complete set of headers that these emails are coming from to verify that is not someone else falsely using another's ID.

If the person who you "suspect" (the high FB buyer) is the emailer, then what did you do to that person that got his/her gotch in such a knot? Normally, it's sellers who do this kind of thing to wipe out the competition.

I doubt if eBay, even with evidence, will do anything to this person ... they are very reluctant to take any action against a member with a high feedback.

If you feel strongly that something needs to be done, or if the SPAM continues, you just have to keep nagging and hopefully hit a decent eBay SH staffer who actually cares.

Good luck ...
