Has anyone ended their auctions on the Sunday after Thanksgiving? Do you advise ending on that date? Is waiting till Monday better? Just thinking people are traveling on Sunday and may not get the chance to bid. Thanks for your input!

I' m just a part timer (500 or so auctions) so I'm not sure if my data counts. I like to end auctions on Saturday evening. I do this because Sat is a real rotten TV night. I would not hesitate to end auctions this Sunday, lots of people will be staying home!

I have ended auctions on the Sunday after Thanksgiving for several years now. It is not the best weekend of the year, but it has been above average for me in the past.
Of course, with the economy, terrorism, etc. and almost double the number of auction listings over last year (without an equal rise in buyers) it remains to be seen.
I also scatter other auction closings just before and after that particular Sunday. Monday closings were good for me during the summer, but are not as productive this time of year.

What I found last year is that not only do listing start to drop off as many sellers dont like selling dureing the Xmas rush but sales as well pick way up....
