Hello,

I am also a victim of the demise of @Home. I was told that although I will be connected to another server within the next 10 days, my e-mail address will be changed and I will no longer be able to receive any e-mails to my old @Home addy.

Although it may not be cost effective, you may want to call your customers. Don't know how else you can contact them unless you wait to hear from them.

It really is a terrible situation. I got MSN as a back up to slowwwwwwwww AOL. I can't believe how much faster MSN is to AOL but still no where as fast @Home. I will drop AOL as soon as I am connected to a new high speed cable server,

Good luck

4 million users looking for a new home, wonder why its competitors do not scoop up these users before it happened??
or these @home users, they know it is coming ,have they signed up with another provider in advance?
you can pay AOL 5.00 a month and have an email address there and check your email anywhere you go.

I have alwas had a back up server because @Home was not always reliable. However, I was told by @Home only the day before I was shut off that the Judge was allowing them to stay up and running pending the buyout negotiations. I know of a number of other @Home customers who were told the same thing. Obviously, this was not the case! Now we are being told that 85,000 in the western part of the country have already been connected to new cable servers. This may be the reason many customers did not get a back up sooner.

Originally, I had nothing but problems with @Home. However, lately, @Home was terrific. I was really spoiled and hate the snail pace of dial up servers.

I was one of the "unlucky" 850,000 AT&T cable subscribers that Excite cut off for the weekend. This morning I have the NEW AT&T cable service. The change was very simple and swift. And the speed seems even faster! Plus I don't have the @home browser, etc on my computer that I disliked so much anyway.

If your customer's @home.com e-mail address bounces, you might try the same prefix with @attbi.com That might get you through to your customer, if they've been set-up by At&T. AT&T said it might take up to 10 days to get all customers set up.

Regards,

George

Well, it's Monday evening and I'm still kicking on @Home...

New service coming in next Monday and only a few sales outstanding. I'm hoping for a smooth transition and adios to not@home.

I have AT&T @ Home and am still without service (am using my in-laws account on another server). In our local paper it said that our service should be up and running Friday morning. It also said that any e-mail sent during this off period would NOT be deliverable. So if you are sending e-mails to @Home bidders and are not getting through, it may be best to wait until they are connected again.

BTW, I am in Western Pennsylvania.

Not ThriftStoreQueen on eBay.

Tuesday evening and I've still got service...

True it's slower than the worst dialup I've seen with modern modems, this must be about 1200 baud. Trying to be the last living @home client.

Terry
