I'm no expert on ceramics... but I did run accross some advertisements for Royal Doultan from the 50's that had similar style pitchers in it. I know that might not be much help... but at least it might give you a start! Good luck in your research!

The pitcher is called a Toby jug and it may have been manufactured by Wood and Sons of England. If you go to Google search and enter Toby Wood & Sons you will find some examples.

Here's the info I found: "Toby Jugs date from 18th. Century England and were fashioned after a character named Toby Philpots. Made by many companies, the most valuable are those made by Ralph Wood, Pratt, Doulton, and Wilkinson. By the mid 1800's other countries were making copies and they are still being made today."
Looks like you have a valuable one there.
