Helllppp!

I create beautiful listings in AW. Everything is fine while they are still pending. Once I launch them to eBay my apostrophes, quotes, dashes, and maybe other characters disappear.

If I get there fast enought I can fix this in eBay, but that is a real hassle. THere, they show as little boxes, but they are blank on the preview.

What happened to them? How can I avoid this?

I'm not sure, but you might want to follow what's going on with this thread:

THank you. That is exactly the problem. At least it looks like an AW problem and not something I did. My auctions in November were fine.

Letowt: It's a day later now. Has the problem been solved? Asking, because I'm afraid to launch until I find out, and I haven't launched anything in a month or so.

Below is an answer we (a friend of mine also has the same problem) got from AW. Hope this helps.

ITMT, we have been going into editing the listing once it is launched on eBay. A PITA, but it does work.

-----------------

We are working on this, and I'm not sure when we will be able to correct it within our system as it is related to the eBay API. We have found a workaround, however, for those of you who are copy/pasting from MS Word:

1. On the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect, and then click the AutoFormat As You
Type tab.

2. Under "Replace as you type", clear the "Straight quotes" with "smart quotes"
check box. Also, clear the check box for "Replace symbol characters with symbols"

Note: You can find and replace all instances of single or double curly quotes
with straight quotes in your document. To do this, clear the "Straight quotes"
with "smart quotes" check box on the AutoFormat As You Type tab. On the Edit
menu, click Replace. In both the Find what and Replace with boxes, type ' or ",
and then click Find Next or Replace All.

I hope this workaround will make it a little easier for you to format your descriptions.

Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience!
