There is way too much concern over feedback. I think most buyers do not even look at feedback. If they see a big number, they just bid. Take a look at this seller's feedback:

http://cgi2.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=evalueville

Nearly 2300 negatives and buyers are bidding up a storm on their items.

Well, they do have just about 12000 positives.

So then the score is over 15000, not bad at all. Could be better, but I have seen worse.

Lordy, they move a lot of stuff. I know my arm would be falling off.

Would break my back just hauling the cash to the bank.

So it seems they use FairMarket to do their auction processing.

Anyone here have any comments on them vis-a-vis AuctionWatch?

It looks like they're selling major department store returns with little or no quality control. Many of the negs are for ripped or stained items, or items that are sized incorrectly.

rough calculation about 2% negative... that's bad but not terrible...

The neg feedback I saw was a mixed bag. Clearly looks like a lack of quality control on those negs where the product was either not as described or defective. Probably not want to do biz with this seller.

His stuff can't be too bad!
117,893 pos.
15,204 pos. unique.
That's 102,689 repeat buyers!
Pretty Good!

I see this problem with most powersellers that use those automated EOA notices. The negatives left almost always state that the seller is non-responsive when there is a problem. I would bet that if this person had responded in a personal e-mail, the amount of negs would be way lower. I personally wouldn't bid on this persons auctions just for that reason.

we cant afford Fairmarket,
it's a solution not a posting software...
and they have 12- 15 people
(eVal, not fairmarket)

nobody cares about their feeback,
I left them negs myself and yet I keep
going back, you cant beat their prices,
who cares about customers service
(which is getting better) when you save that much. they ship quickly and they are
quick to refund, I love them !

feedback matters, but not much when it
comes to eValueville.

I've been following E****Ville for a long time now and they are doing much better than they used to do. Their negatives have gone from nearly 7% to around 2%. That's quite an improvement. Also, if you actually read their feedback they get a lot of unwarranted negs. People don't read too well before they bid.

Even though they are a direct competitor and I sometimes wish they would go away, I have to give credit where it is due...

Me too...me too! I shop with E-ville on occasion and only on itmems I know very well. I've always been happy with their items/service, but I know its a crap shoot going in.

But if you deal in the same types of merchandise and would like to share your seller name...email me or post it here!
