Dear Sellers,

Today we are announcing to our sellers a multiple level promotion across the Yahoo! network designed to drive bidders and buyers to your auctions. The objectives of this program are simple -- to continue to build your business on Yahoo! Auctions by attracting more and more bidders, and to bring in more valued sellers to help make Yahoo! Auctions your strongest partner in business.

Here’s the plan:

Tuesday, March 12, 2002
1. Yahoo! Auctions will be offering a Free Listing Day from 12:01 am PST to 11:59 pm PST to allow sellers to take full advantage of an
upcoming promotion (to be announced on Wed., Mar. 13th).
2. Yahoo! Auctions will launch a new showcase featuring items with a $1.00 start price and no reserve price for sellers who have items that
they want to be highlighted through our showcase promotion. The $1.00, No Reserve showcases have been very successful on
Yahoo! Auctions.
3. Yahoo! Auctions is now even easier to use for Andale users. Andale customers who sell on ebay can now upload to Yahoo!
Auctions with ease. Try it out.
4. Heavy online advertising begins to get buyers ready for our big TBA promotion.

Wednesday March 13 – 15th
1. Yahoo!’s big promotion begins with heavy online advertising plus radio and print advertising to
drive consumers to this online event.
2. Yahoo! PayDirect (http://paydirect.yahoo.com) will wave all fees during the promotion. All money that is sent and accepted through
Yahoo! PayDirect within this date range will be transaction free.
3. Yahoo! Auctions will launch our “Winners Win Twice” sweepstakes program. Beginning March 13th, and running for 100 days, we will
pay back 10 winning bidders everyday, plus every winning bidder will be entered into the Grand Prize drawing at the end of the
program. We want to reward and encourage successful bidders, and feel this will continue that effort.

Our last sweepstake for sellers was very successful. Thanks for everyone who participated. Our winners have been notified and are looking forward to their Cunard Cruise.

Thank you again for your support and feedback. We will have additional information on these programs in the next few days. We feel strongly that the Mar. 13thYahoo! promotion, with the Free Listing Day and the Showcase opportunity will help to drive heavy interest in items for sale on Yahoo! Auctions. We hope you will take advantage of these promotions.

All the best,
Norm Hullinger
VP, General Manager, Yahoo! Auctions and Yahoo! Warehouse

Yahoo must have made alot of money during the last promotion. My sales on yahoo are getting better with time. Yahoo can really grow if they put their heads together. I dont care if they ever catch up with ebay, but we do need a reliable 2nd choice.

The $1.00, No Reserve showcases have been very successful on Yahoo! Auctions.

If Yahoo doesn't know the real fair market value of an item, how do they know if an auction is successful?
