Hi - I remember reading a thread here once about how to use a plastic container and kitty litter to deoderize a book with a musty mildew smell. Can anyone please direct me to that thread or explain how to do it again? Thank you very much.

I recall reading the thread, i have no idea how to find it.I have used baking soda & kitty litter. I put the books in a large plastic stackable storage boxes. Put a dish or two of baking soda in the box and let it set for 2-3 weeks. If books still smell, change the baking soda and let the books set some more.
Kitty litter will work and here is tip. cut the leg off an old pair of panty hose, tie a knot in one end, fill the hose with kitty litter, tie off the other end. toss this in the box with the books or papers and let set for a few weeks. the panty hose keeps the kitty litter from getting in or on the books.

Thanks for bringing that thread back. Now that AW has gotten rid of the search it is hard to find things anymore.
