Anyone else have this problem?
For 2 days I can't connect to geocities to upload pictures with FTP Explorer.
Just wondering.

I believe that geocities/Yahoo has changes their free service so that you can't do FTP. You now have to have their premium ($) service to do it. Instead, you have to use Page Manager to upload.

you need to upgrade to Y!GeoCities PLUS to be able to use FTP:

Geocities has cancelled all links to all sites except for Yahoo sites. Your images will not work on Ebay any longer if you were using Geocities for them. I would suggest epier for your images. It never has down time and loads very quickly. Also, for your slow moving items, you can list them at epier for free and if you sell them somewhere else, you can simply cancel the auction and be out nothing. Also if you sell an item, it is simply extra money in your pocket.
Good luck,

Does AOL FTP work well? We have an AOL account for the kids and never considered it for images.

Oh my gosh! I wish they had let me know! It just so happened my last batch of auctions had ended before this so it didn't hurt anything. When I tried to upload my new batch, "error." So I switched back to Road Runner. It doesn't hold a great deal, but I'll find another host. Did any of you get a notice?

I've also been having this problem with geocities, but at least I know it was because of something they did.

What does SD stand for? If they are a good hosting place, I may also use them.
Also, what is the URL for Road Runner?
By the way, I'm currently using MSN as my ISP.
Does anyone know if they provide any free web space (like AOL does) if you are a member?
Do many ISPs, local or national offer free web space for pictures, web pages, etc.?

Hi professorhiggins,
Sorry this took so long. You made me have to think, and that's work!
1)“What does SD stand for? If they are a good hosting place, I may also use them.”
http://www.sparedollar.com/main/
Free services, but they accept donations. This is perfect for me and my low sales volume.
2)“Also, what is the URL for Road Runner?”
http://www.rr.com/rdrun/
I have broadband, high-speed internet service through cable modem with Road Runner. With Road Runner, you also get:
Use of Cable Modem
Multiple Unique Email Accounts
Personal Web Space
Hosting is part of the service. I’ve never had any trouble with my pictures disappearing. Installation of cable brings goodies same as other cable services plus internet service (no dial up), and lots of other goodies.
3) Do ISP’s offer free hosting?
I don’t know if they all do or not.

Just wanted to mention i've been using SpareDollar (http://www.sparedollar.com/) too for my images. It's a breeze to upload and manage your images.
i just started using their listing feature and that's pretty easy too.
Cheers!
