I just sold an item she asked me a couple of questions before hand none of them indicated she was from Germany. She used buy it now and paid with Billpoint. The credit card is Visa (International) I like the way Billpoint least let you know source of funds. Anyway the shipping address is c/o another person in USA.

When I go to check the bidding activity it tells me German Laws prohibit eBay from letting me look at her bidding history just to make sure they not went on a massive spree with someone else's card.

They have 7 positive feedback, none for over a month.

Does this sound like a safe sale?

Comments please.

Any sale paid for with a CC can be a risk. Perhaps she is buying it as a gift for the person in the US. Maybe e-mail her and ask some questions and see what she says.

Is it for a large amount?

I would most likely wait to hear back from her about why she wishes it shipped to a US address.

We ship to other addresses all the time as the item is usually going to a work address or it is a gift for someone else.

I know it's a risk and we take many in our business but we have only had 2 chargebacks and both under $100. It always hurts when we do get one though because we like to trust our customers.

Good luck with it and I hope it works out for the best.

I have a few out of USA buyers that I ship to USA addresses. They have family that keeps items for them and then ships a larger package to save them shipping. I am sure the other reason is the family sends it as a gift or reduced value.

I have shipped to addresses other than the bidding address including overseas bidders. Each transaction was successful.

The most memorable transaction of this type was a gift to a prison inmate. The item shipped to the prison was John Grisham's book, "A Time to Kill".

I worried about that one for a few days.

Your transaction sounds relatively safe to me.

It seems safe to me. She hasn't received fb in a month so she isn't a hit and run type.

i have sold on 3 occasions to the same doctor in Germany. i ship the item to California to his medical supply company and they ship the item with his supplies orders. he saves on shipping and i have a good repeat customer.
