Okay, I won an auction in late March. I get my money order and mail it out on 4/3. On 4/7 the seller leaves positive feedback with the comment, 'thanks for fast payment'. So yesterday I get an email from the seller asking me when I mailed payment because they haven't gotten it yet. I reply when I mailed it and pointed out that they already left me feedback. I figure it is an error ont their part and that they confused auctions. So today I get another e-mail from them saying that my feedback was a mistake, it was intended for someone else. I was a seller for years and never encountered such a problem. Anyone else? And what happened.
Thanks.

Let the seller know that since the public record says the payment was received you would be willing to put a trace on the money order at his/her expense. If they refuse, contact SafeHarbor.

I have made the same feedback mistake a few times. Most of the time the payment gets to me the day after the feedback..
I'd trace the MO myself and only ask for the seller to pay the fee if the seller actually cashed it. Why should this seller pay any fees for tracking a MO if they really never got it?

This is why I don't like money orders. If something goes wrong, it will cost you. The last time I bounced a check, I was a starving college student with literally no money. If they don't want to accept my check, or take a credit card, I don't want to even bother...As a seller, if a buyer sends a MO and it does not make it to me, under no circumstance will I pay for a trace, because I do not cash anything until I know I have processed the order already...
