dman3 - I took at look at your sales for the last 30 days. I would hate to see what your sales were before they got better.

Yesterday's sales sure sucked. Just over 50%. Few if any last minute bidders.

My auctions Sunday night were MISERABLE. My items went 10-20 Percent less than they should have, or do (Had 7 auctions close). Have not had an incident like that in MONTHS. BUT my auctions this week (Have not closed Yet) are doing quite well. I've done OK this Year, except Sunday, BUT I have had more Deadbeats.

As far as Ebay goes, my sales have dropped over the two weeks. The good news is that my regular customers are still buying. I still have to wait before I can buy that Kate Spade purse!

My "Lot" sales are doing great, unfortunately profits for "Lots" are about 30% less, but it's a great way to unload a few undesirables with the good stuff.

Dman3,
I have better sales than that on bidville. It is comments like yours that make others feel something is wrong with their items. But I checked your auctions. You must have a day job.

I don't think any type of accurracy(sp?) can be told by commenting about "sales".

With the hundreds of different catagories at ebay, I'm sure some things always sell like hotcakes while others probably lay there until the cows come home.

Why not be more specific about what catagory(s) you're interested in and then I'm sure the feedback you get will be more helpful to you.

Just my $0.02...

I Had 6 sales from the last week in September till the last week of December.

and before that over the summer they were not that much better.

now I am averaging 1 to 3 sale every other day pretty much which isn't to bad for the amount of items I have dropped down to listing since 2000 .

in 98, 99 and 2000 I was listing from 100 to 150 items weekly on both ebay and yahoo as well as many as 30 to 60 items on yahoo and ebay under my brother ID for him between all the Items and Ids I was running a 60 to 85% sell through sales were anywhere from $2,500 to $6000 weekly.

some time around fall of 2000 the collectables and antique sales started dropping hard, There was no longer enough return for my brother to continue selling through online auctions the higher end items, as the number of bids dropped off some weeks less then 1% sell through and the items that were selling were going at a loss.

Around summer of 2000 I started moving to selling Records and music related Items under my Ebay Id only at first I was listing 50 to 100 and I was getting a good response sell through of 50 to 60% sell through not bad for record sales very low cost inventory and not much effort or time had to go into packing to ship them.

By the summer of 2001 sales were nearly nonexistent and in the fall I was ready to pack it in How ever in October I started getting bids again and after January sales were still moving up.

since December 29th I have had only two Items that actually sold with bids but I have had over 298 buy it now sales, on top of that we have been setting up our own server and have our catalog business on line now the whole sale retail part of the website on our server is about 85% complete.

we have began a new advertising campaign For our new E commerce site,Thanks for looking at our sell through for the last month it may not look like much to you How ever to us on this end its a 150% turn around..

When we change our selling plan and started selling records and music in the end of 2000 we were list 50 to 100 items a week our sales were roughly 1 to 3% our avrage High bid or buy price was $3 to $4 our cost were from $55 to $80 a month our income on sales was $0 and below after cost , Since october we only list roughtly 14 to 19 Items a week Our average buy and high bid prices are $12 to $15 our sell through is from 30 to 35% Our cost to sell is average $25 .
From my End I would say sales have not been looking better for me in a long long time, and Dman-N-Company is coming out of very hard times not only in the online auctions but now have a catalog of over 4000 items online to sell wholesale and retail as well.

WE are right now make 3x as much with 90% less work and effort and spending 60% less to do it.

Just thought I would add that on top of the new webserver and online store improving ebay sales and selling technics that over the winter we were also selling item from our own auction site and other small seller owned auction sites.

If my post makes you or anyone else feel there is something wrong with what they are selling it is best to go with your first Thought.

I can almost Guarantee you have not had over $1000 in record, tape and CD sales Only on bidville in the last 6 months , I have been pretty busy but not so busy I don't have time to fallow the industry I am trying to sell in

My sales are down over 90%. I was also making around $6,000 a month. So the items I was sell were right! Those send items now have NO Bids! I lowered the starting bid by
30%, still No good. I sell all new collectible items. Toys and Sports. My company lay-off 800 people last week. One of these guys said he was an ebay bidder all the time. Not anymore.

It's just been the last couple of weeks for us.

Sales this week have been slightly over 50%. The worst they have been since 9/11/2001. I'm not sure what the problem is. There's been several no bid days and only 3 BINs..

Had one person email that they would use BIN if we didn't charge shipping. This is a $500+ item with a BIN of $44.99.

Do not guarantee what you know nothing about. No, I do not sell records and tapes, but I have had over $1,000 worth of sales at Bidville in the last 6 months. And that is a huge drop for me, as I was doing nearly $1500. a month the year before on Yahoo.

I do not need to go with my first thought. You do not seem to sell a huge quanity of items and I am glad you are happy with your sales. The point is, though that for most people, this is a very slow time of year on eBay.
