Does anyone know where to go to get an idea of what a painting might be worth? I have a signed MByers oil painting from 1938 framed and I have no idea where to go to look this up or who this artist is. Are there artist websites? Any help would be appreciated. thank you.
Both require a subscription, but I think you can pay by the request. They are both comprehensive and reasonably up to date.
You might also try the library for a copy of ADEC and Davenport for prices. Benezit doesn't have prices but is extremely comprehensive (though in French). A local museum or art/antique dealer might have these.
