One of the nice things about being a grandparent is that we can get by with things with our granchildren that would have caused our children to disown us!
I'm not sure if it's because they (the grandchildren) hold us in such high esteem, or if it's because they expect no better of us (knowing we're in our dotage), and are therefore much more tolerant, not to mention forgiving.

Don't do it. It is possible for grandchildren to deeply resent grandparents for "cute" little stunts like that, ESPECIALLY if anyone outside the family is part of the gathering at which the cake will be served. Don't do it.

I'm with you JACK, use it but crop out the thumb. Us old ones can get by with everything but murder when it comes to grandchildren. Every body but the grandaughter will get a big kick out of it, & she will be as red as a beet. LOL Thats what GP's are for. (GP=grandparents)

....This is child porn at it's worst!!!...Just kidding...Before my Mother dies my kids used to get back at her for the pranks she pulled on them...Once in a while when they went to her place they slipped a few condoms in her purse...That went over big when she went out with her friends for dinner and was trying to find something in there and emptied it out....Oh the embarrassment!!!...

If either I or my brother had done thatto our mom, she would have died. She was not too big on religion, but she was a very pious person. Never ever heard her use anything stronger than darn.
