What has your past experience been listing items that end on thanksgiving? how about ending the weekend immediately after thanksgiving? should i wait a week, and then put my huge listing to end the first weekend of december? just thought I would ask. I've seen it slow down this week a little. figured it was people going out and buying food rather than goods.

Start you auctions on Thursday & run them for 10 days. This will take you 2 weekends & end on Sunday. I start all auctions at 11:30 PM PST. That is 2:30 AM on EST. This gives everyone the evening to view the auction & I can still see the end results before going to bed. I used to run just 7 day, but for 20 cents I now run them all for 10 days.

I use to run 10 day auctions all the time until eBay upped the listing fee for them. I did it to give myself some free time. I may try it again; however, I notice that most items never get a bid until the last day or even the last hour so those extra days don't seem to help any. Also, for me an auction ending on Sunday is bad. Week days work fine but the weekend is just not as good. I am planning to list on Monday before Thanksgiving so they will go off the following Monday, and weekend shoppers have a chance to view.

People like me will be trying to avoid the malls this weekend, and the first place I look is on eBay. I say, go for it. I don't do 10-day auctions because I think what's happening is that people put items on their watch list and bid on the last day. So if you're paying for a 10-day auction, you're prolonging your agony....Happy Thanksgiving.

Great week to list! People loaded up on turkey and booze on a 3 day weekend what more could a seller ask for!

I have been using this formula for the past year & it has really worked well for me. One fellow did some research & found that Saturday night was the #1 night to end an auction, #2 was Sunday night, & never end an auction between 6 AM & noon. As far as the 10 day fee, 2o cents is peanuts on a $200.00 item. If you are selling something for $4.95, thats different. I want as much exposure as possible. I know that moost bidding is done in the last 2 or three hours. Not everybody looks at eBay every day.

With all due respect, there is absolutely no reason not to list whatever you have during this time of year.
Urgency, impatience, scarcity, xmas cheer...all of the seller's best friends are at their rabid utmost. Forget formulas.
With few exceptions, if you can't sell it now, you ain't in the game.

Just purchased 12 Edgar Rice Burroughs books at an estate sale. All are at least 75 yrs old. They go on @11:30 Thanksgiving night for 10 days. Holidays are only one day in the week, so take advantage of the time of the year.

I will list all week, just think, after turkey, everyone who isn't a football nut, will be surfing the 'net. I know I will! I agree with another poster, this has been a great month.

Please don't list ending this weekend. I don't want any competition for my auctions.
