Hello everyone,

I have this creamer made by Mikasa Fine China, Jyoto Japan. Checked all over the Internet and can't find out the pattern name. Seems to be an older piece.

On the bottom, below the logo, is the word UME and the number 8240. Doesn't sound like a pattern name to me but I'm certainly not an expert.

Here are a couple of pictures.

Maybe some of you recognize it or can point me in the right direction.

Thanks for the help,

Lucy

Hi Trai,

That one is exactly the same shape as mine. Maybe "UME" IS a pattern name...

Thanks very much.

First of all Mikasa has never made china. They bought out a company named Narumi to make china for them. Go to Replacements.com. They may be able to tell you the actual pattern name & value. Unless it is a rare piece, it isn't worth a whole lot. Mikasa & Noritake are have indauntered the market so badly that there is very little value left in either

Hi Sanmar,

Thanks for the link. Seems "Ume" IS the name of the pattern. They have a creamer in their inventory at $29.99.

Now I have something to go on as far as eBay.

I surely do appreciate the help - - china is definitely NOT my specialty!

Thanks again,

Lucy

Lucy; To give you an idea of the mark up that Replacements gets. They are paying $1.00 for that creamer!! I really didn't take a good look at the backstamp until now. My replacements supplier index does show it.

Howdy Sanmar...

Well, I guess I could sell it to them for ten times what I paid for it!

Or, I could put it on eBay for $9.50, right?

Any clue as to when this pattern was made?

As always, thanks very much for the help.

Lucy
