if you get an email that asks you to verify credit card info and paypal info at www.ebay-id.com, it is FRAUD. Be careful!

WOW! THey are still at it! They got a new website already..last one was closed down (see earlier threads) Maybe you should forward that email on to eBay - it's dated TOMORROW!

The reason that it is dated tomorrow is that it is coming from a foreign country. The one that I posted here was from the UK. Nothing is sacred anymore. Everyday it seems like you have to watch your back so that someone doesn't sneak up on you. People are stealing identies everyday and I guess there is nothing to stop them.

Am I reading this correctly? They're using a Yahoo email address to set up their fake domain and eBay site. If THAT doesn't piss off the legal department at eBay, nothing will. I would like to be a fly on the wall when they catch wind of this

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

They don't have to hook many suckers to make this scam worthwhile. As eBay penetrates society more, less savvy people become eBay users -- and potential targets.

Really, this is no different from the people that call senior citizens asking them to verify credit card numbers over the phone. Nearly happened to my grandparents; luckily my mother and I were on hand to put a stop to it. My grandfather would've cheerfully read off his Sears card # if we hadn't stopped him.

And the page is still up and looks very good. All of the links on it link to the actual eBay pages, so if you go wandering out you hit eBay links. Very well done.
