I have an Old RCA Victrola.
One of the doors on the unit need a new piece of veneer.
Does anyone know what kind of wood they used on these units?

Walnut,Mahogany,Oak,Cherry,etc.?

Hi, The wood is ribbon mahogany, or quartered mahogany, not straight cut. You may have to do some special staining to make it match because the heavy lines in the old is ususlly pretty dark from the original stain and the new will all be one color. Good luck!

They almost always used tree wood.

Check out Constantines Wood Center. If they don't have it you may be SOL.

A veneer tree! Now there's a Christmas decorating idea. . . .

A furniture maker in your area should be able to sell you some of the wood you need, or tell you where you can get it.
