Aren't you getting sick of ending all your EBAY (there, now it's related) emails "Happy Holidays" because you don't want to offend anyone? I picked up this "politically correct" Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from another message board.
Friends,
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.
May you have a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2003, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make the world great, without prejudging any other country, nor inferring or implying that this is the only ' country in the western hemisphere, and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, choice of computer platform, or sexual orientation of the recipient.
By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise of the wisher to actually implement the wishes for herself/himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher.
This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and said warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.

when it comes to my beliefs, I don't care if I offend...I am christian and proud of it...I stand up for everyone having the right to their own beliefs...as long as they have thick skin when it comes to other peoples.
when I worked with the headstart program umpteen years ago..we had a teacher who played the piano for our Christmas program...she refused to play any music that mentioned Santa Claus as going against her religion...she asked that the children sing "happy Birthday to Jesus"..as a rebellion, I refused to allow my class to sing that selection.

At my husband's office last year they were told they had to remove their Christmas related screen savers from their desk computers because 2 employees of the Muslim faith found them offensive and they had filed discrimination complaints with Human Resources.

Where I live the Christians are a very small minority. The new immigrants are mostly coming from Asia and are not Christians. I'm very open minded and don't want to force Christianity on them and instead let them have their various religions. I think the forefathers called it religious freedom?

Yes, it is freedom of religion. That goes for Christians as well.
I am proud of being a Christian and will not waver from saying Merry Christmas. If that one line offends someone--too bad. If they are of another faith and want to reply to my emails with Happy ******* whatever they celebrate, I would not be offended either.
