I had someone pay through billpoint around Christmas time for an aerobic exercise step. I shipped it out right away. Well, I received a call from UPS saying they were initiating an insurance claim because it "fell out of the box and they don't know what it was or where it went" (how you can lose something that large is beyond me). I emailed her and explained what happened and gave her a refund through billpoint. I didn't have enough in my account, so it's a pending refund. 2 days later she emails me and tells me she doesn't have a billpoint account and wants the refund through paypal. I told her she paid me through billpoint, so she does have a billpoint account, but I would see what I can do. I emailed billpoint customer service, but that will probably take a while for a response. Anyone know how I can reverse the refund through them?

PS - got my green star today!!! When you do this part time it really seems to take forever to get from red star to green.

be careful, the last thing you want to do to muddle this picture further is to bring paypal in.
lets see what billpoint has to say, make sure she is using her own cc and does the billing addr matches her ship to addr??

Yes, the addresses matched. I'm thinking since I initiated the refund 2 days ago the refund will go through before billpoint even gets back to me. But I never thought of that - if she says she never received it and does a chargeback I don't have proof of shipment - I have proof of non-shipment.

She doesn't need to have a billpoint account. They (billpoint) will either credit the card she used to pay or the will put the money back into her credit card. Just let it ride - she will have her money in a day or two.

if seller does nothing but just let them reverse the charge after she file chargeback, there could be a chargeback fee of 10 dollars??

That is right - if the buyer does a chargeback the seller will get charged an extra 10.00......But in this case the seller did a payment refund...and it is pending until the funds clear from her account. At that point the money will be credited to the buyer - either to their credit card or into their checking.

All billpoint payments that you are refunding need to be done this way. If she would have refunded the buyer thru paypal - the buyer could do a chargeback against billpoint and then the seller would be out the money they paypaled, the money charged back against billpoint and the fee. Nasty!!

She just needs to tell her buyer to be patient and to check either her bank account or credit card in a couple of days and the refund will be there.
