I had a buyer buy a dress after asking a ton of questions. The dress was described as being "white accented with blue" which it indeed was.
She wrote & asked "Is the embroidery blue or just the beading?
Is it noticible or very light?
Is it grayish blue, greenish blue, ice blue, light blue
I responded that it was in my opinion, light blue.Click on the pictures for a larger view, enlarging the close-up should work. In my opinion, it is noticable. Embroidery , beading is white

She bought the dress the night of the 7th and on the 9th had listed it herself ( at a higher price) using my photographs. By then she had bid on another dress. She received the dress this morning and I got this e-mail-- When the item arrived it is not the blue as described. It looks like pale gray.
It is not noticible to me. Is there anything you can do? I know you said no
returns, but it is important to me to have the right gown.
--------------------
I am wondering, if it is so importent to have the right gown, why did she put it up for auction before she even got it?
My photographs were accurate, it did have pale blue accents, and was invoiced as white/blue.
Afew minutes ago, we got a this e-mail--

PayPal has received a complaint regarding a recent transaction
on your account. The buyer has reported that the merchandise
was "Not as Described" and is disputing the quality of goods
received. PayPal encourages you to work directly with the buyer
in this instance to resolve the issue.
I checked this person's fb & she had a neg for selling a phone she did not have. I Kept snooping & she had bought the phone BIN & listed it apparently before she received it. Is this against eBay rules? Selling an item before you receive it?
This baffles me, it was as described, I think she just wants a way out since she bought this other dress
Also, she has yet ANOTHER wedding dress up as of the the 9th. How do I resolve this with paypal?? Thanks Guys!

the picture is part of the description. Unless you posted a picture of the wrong thing, your "discription" was accurate. the buyer is just trying to screw you over. I'd have her return the dress to you.

You resolve it with PayPal by answering their questions quickly and completely, and being adamant that you represented the item perfectly. I don't know if they have a rep on these boards or the ones at OTWA, but it wouldn't hurt to ask your questions in the PayPal threads there.

As for your buyer, man...what a piece of work. It would be VERY hard for me to resist using my buyer ID to bid on "my" gown. Then, I wonder if she would be so anxious to return it.

It would also be VERY hard for me not to call her on it. "Why is it important to you to get the right gown when you already listed it on eBay using my picture and description? Is it so you won't get a crooked, a$$-hole buyer like I did?"

Not saying I'd do that....just that it would be hard to resist.

I WOULD however tell her to drop the PayPal complaint or face fraud charges. THAT I'd follow up on if she didn't return the dress in EXACTLY the same condition it was in when I shipped it.

And, please tell me you didn't already give her a positive for her prompt payment under the misguided theory that she has fulfilled her part of the deal. Don't even get me started on that subject......

Good luck!

Apparently you have a no return clause in your TOS. Which is fine and because you make the rules you can also bend them! If it were my sale, I offer to take the gown back and refund her money. This is the easiest quickest way to solve these situations and get this buyer out of your life. Copy the PP people on all your emails.

You email this person and tell them that you know they are selling your dress by using your pictures and description. Please refer her to eBays rules on stealing pictures and descriptions. I will be she won't be doing that again

Well, I feel a little better now. Ebay removed the auction this morning. I am just amazed that she did it in the first place. I wrote her and asked why she reported it to paypal and she said" you said it would match my bridesmaids dresses and it won't" I have enough sense to know that a catalog photo ( which isn't the right color 99% of the time anyway) sent to me via internet is not a good way to match. I do have in my TOS no refunds or exchanges, I think thst's why she took the PP route.
Glad THAT'S over!! Thanks for all the advice!!!

This is one reason we use this board to help others and also to get help for ourselves, in which I need a lot of help. Lots of heads are better than one. I am happy this had a good ending for you....

When you take paypal there is no such thing as " no returns, all sales final". As you found out the hard way this leaves you wide open to these kind of scam bidders.

If you wish to run that type of auction then make sure its bidpay, money orders, checks etc.
