I just picked up an express mail envelope at the post office..postage $13.85...inside was a money order in the amount of $ 8.50 to pay for a postcard auction (no it wasn't late)!!!! Does this make sense at all??? What's that saying..."fools and their money..."?? - I'm sending the item regular old snail mail..

I get that all the time. I've even had it sent from the same city I live in, using overnight. My suspicion is that some of these people are using their employer to mail out these payments.

I've had that expierence as well. I get the feeling that at least some of these are from people that are abusing company shipping guidlines or they own a company and write off all the costs of shipping or something similar.

It's not to get to you faster, it's using someone else's money (an employer) to send it to you. Amazing that people will risk their job over 37 cents...

Or maybe they know something about that extremely rare and valuable postcard that you don't...

I think they would have insured the postcard if they thought it was that valuable and wanted extra handling in the shipping...maybe they have had their money orders lost in mail before? Seems to me people that want their payments to get somewhere right away and are afraid it would get lost in the mail would use PayPal and save the $ 13.85!

I had someone want me to send a big heavy item on their Fedex # once overnight. I was afraid of getting a chargeback on it if it was an unauthorized charge so I told I would not do it. Offered to ship UPS overnight if they sent me the money. They decided that Ground was all of a sudden good enough.

I am quite sure that they were not going to be paying for the Fedex charges.
