Well, I never requested power seller status in the first place...it was thrust upon me. I let it ride to see what this new grand position would do, and guess what...as far as I can tell there wasn't a mouse-fart worth of benefit.

So today I was informed that I didn't measure up and my icon was rudely yanked and I can't lurk in the big boys' and girls' chat room anymore. The irony is that when they bestowed the PS honor on me my stats didn't measure up then either.

My sneaking suspicion is that it was simply a ploy to get me into a lather to work harder in order to up sales, then whip me a bit more to work even harder, and when I didn't play the game...punishment time.

So,good bye old pals...I'll just have to live on old memories of when I was a big guy too....ha. Shame on you, ebay.

As a seller, I don't need anything to put any more pressure on me. As a buyer, I could care less if you are a Power Seller or not. Welcome back to the land of the everyday normal Ebay seller. We's glad to ya back amongst us reg'lar foke.

Never sweat it, power sellers are like busses, there is always another status if you wait a bit. Do what works for you.

Welcome back into the real world. I will make a bet we have a better discussion board than they do as we will never defrock you.
Sometimes it gets a little hairy in here but if you can stand the heat things get better.

Don't let it make you lose sleep. I didn't & I am doing just what I always have done. Like you, I saw no benefits & never used their chat room.

lol, classicrock000. It kinda hurt the first time. But this time it won't matter to me.

I'm talking about losing my PS status.

How funny!!! Me to. I feel the way you do. I wasn't up to their standards to begin with so nanananananana! I could care less. When I buy, I look at feedback, nothing else is important to me.

LOL Kiara.
Hi CC5,
I was defrocked (as a ps) yesterday. I guess they were having their Non Performing Seller spring clean. Like you I did not ask for it, I just kept getting email after email bugging me to sign up for the 'program'. I figured if it isn't cost me any extra I may as well take the plunge. Yesterday I was informed by ebay that I too was inadequate. HAHAHA. Oh well, I guess I will be be able to wear a smaller hat again now that I am an ordinary seller.
Cheers,
Adrian

do half.com sales add to your ebay sales to make you a powerseller? I have an account that I have used primarily for half.com, except for a couple of months where I did do a few thousand in sales on ebay. I can't imagine them giving me power seller status for just a few months of ebay sales, but I consistantly sell a couple of thousand on half each month. Just curious.

Yep, me too. I estimate I missed the cutoff by about twenty bucks. I was SO tempted to write back and say that if they counted all my OFF-eBay sales I would have made Silver. LOL, but that didn't seem wise.

Ah, well, I'm shutting down for the summer in a few weeks, so it would have happened soon enough. Be back in September, but if I get another PS invite, I'll probably take it for the (alleged) better support, but NOT display the icon. Screw 'em.

I lost my PS status just a couple of weeks ago and it was a relief. No more pressure.
Now I just list a few items a week and many of those items as loss-leaders. I have a big text area in magenta about visiting my eBay Store, and more text and a link to visit my About ME page. There I have the link to my Vendio Store. I'm shooting for more sales in the Stores rather than auctions since auction sales are down in my area (philately). As was pointed out by another, I only lost the ability to read the restricted PS eBay chats. No biggee...

I couldn't care less if I am a Power Seller or not. It would be just too much work. I have a lot of stuff to sell but it takes a lot of time to photo, measure, write listings, ship, etc. I sell vintage clothing.

I love the clothing and the extra money is really nice and this is fun.

You spotted fairly quickly the advantages of being a power seller.....they are b all. You used to have an email address you could
write to and get a fairly quick response and this was kind of nifty. This however was yanked and now we have the sort of electronic notice board you have to go to if you want to speak to them. I Think e-bay have reached the situation where communicating with the customer is rather
a hindrance as they (the customers) are getting in the way of the empire building......
