I got a payment from PP -- NO address info included.

went to their site, checked details of payment -- "no address provided"

What? You can send $ thru PP with no address or location info to the seller?

As much as I feel for you, the problem is not paypal in this case, its the bidder who did not include the addy.

true, but it appears that you can use PP to send $ without giving PP your address... neat scam for crooks.

OTOH -- if you must give PP your address, they should pass it on to the seller.

trai,
I must disagree with you. It is PayPal that is allowing people to register without an address. PayPal needs to be sued over this issue. They suck and we all know it.

Just return the payment! Ask for an address when they resend.

It is the bidders problem.

I love Paypal. They have made my life soooo much easier.

when you pay with paypal, you have the choice of saying no shipping info needed...that is if they didn't put in the auction info when they made the payment.

as far as i know you still have to enter address info when registering with paypal.

No, you are not correct. Read rarriffle post.

as far as i know you still have to enter address info when registering with paypal.

Correct! Its the bidders screw up for not filling in the addy on the payment form.

How exactly do you think that someone can register with PayPal without giving an address. If you remember, you have to enter a billing adress for your card. The option to not send a physical address is there for people that are making purchases that do not require mailing (downloadable software, site memberships, etc) and that wish to keep their physical address confidential when it is not required.

I recently had an ebay auction that was one lot of heavy books and only wanted to ship within the USA and marked that on the shipping info. A Canadian bidder won the auction. He wrote after the aution that he had a friend stateside that I could mail the books to for him. Next I got a PayPal payment from him with no address on the payment. A few days later he emailed the US friends postal address.
I saw no problem with the lack of address on the PP payment in that case.

capotasto What? You can send $ thru PP with no address or location info to the seller?

Sure. You can make donations without giving your home address, you can keep your address private when purchasing downloadable material. The option not to give your address is a feature some buyers have legitmate uses for.

Sellers have the option to return payments without any cost or liability to them if they don't want the payment. So unless someone has a gun to your head forcing you to keep the payment there isn't a real problem.

Reason #37 is a only problem if you want it to be.
