Anyone else note that in the last week or so it seems like people are really lagging in paying for stuff that they've won? Yet not long before that, i'd usually get 2 or 3 Paypals a day and at least that many mailed payments. Has the economy gone further downhill in the span of a week?

Speaking of, when is it generally acceptable to send buyers a pyament reminder? I'm more concerned that they didn't get the auction invoices that I'd sent out being that I've received so few reply-backs (emails) to them.

Over the past few weeks I have had a number of buyers claim they did not recieve the WBN from VD. Never know if that is true or an excuse for slow pay. But, yes, pay is slow and I am sending out Ebay invoices after 2 days of no response...no excuse there as long as their Ebay email is correct.

Yes, I've noticed an increase in slow - no pays. I wait the 10 days and NPB them. Usually brings them around. If they still don't reply or pay, FVF and move on. Life's too short to babysit leaky bidders.

There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Not only are the bids far and few between but there are some bidders who never respond to emails.

I have two auctions that I have had no response to. I send the first notice then the eBay reminder on the third day. On the tenth day reminder to pay.

I had a guy who responded to my first notice "i will send payment soon". Got that email within a few hours of my first email. A week later "i sent payment". A guy of few words. I haven't received his payment yet but when I do I think I'll email him with just "Thank You" and let him guess what it's about.

It hasn't been unusual for payments to arrive 10 -14 days after end of auction. I've had a lot of newbies bidding lately so I am not surprised when they don't respond or mail payment late. I try to be kind and explain "how it works" in a friendly email. I don't know if the economy is that bad or bidders just know we are so thankful to have bids we let things "ride" longer than we used to. Slow payments are better than no payments I guess.
