I had someone I've done business with in the past send a question through ebay about an item I'm selling. I tried to respond but the mail is bouncing back.

I tried to do Question to eBay member to her and everything and the email is bad. How do I get in contact with this person??

I hate to lose a sale over it!

Is the adress actually bad or is their service down or box full? If they jus asked the question it sounds like a service problem, not a bad address.

I guess it depends on the item price but you try pulling her info and giving her a call if you really think its worth it.

The email that is returned says:

Recipient: <*******@mail.aps.mntm.org>
Reason: unknown user <******@mail.aps.mntm.org>

I tried to pull her user contact information but it wants the item number. She did not bid yet. She emailed me to make sure it's okay to send payment in a form I didn't say in the auction. I would hate to lose the sale AND this is someone I've done lots of business with before (but only had contact through email)!

Can you pull contact information without a transaction number?

Does she have anything up for sale?
You could bid on it, that would let you pull her contact info!

Nope tried that too

This is very frustrating.

I dont want to turn her over to eBay even though they would get her email upated but how would they even contact her to let her know her email is NOT working?

They would more than likely NARU her that would get her attention!

If you use AW/V services some of the old auctions should be in archive.

Why would you report someone to ebay for what is obviously not their fault? It's one thing to get mail resturn as unknown or not registered user but the message you are getting is evidence of a mail server issue. In the meantime, you have just NARU a customer. They don't contact them and ask politely - they just NARU them in which case - you've definately lost the sale.

Maybe you could add a note at the bottom of your auction that if you ask a question and do not get a reply to check their server for problems or even add that you are willing to take whatever form of payment she asked about. If you don't want to do that for just anyone say that it would have to be a former customer only. I hope this makes sense.

Do you know her name and address? If so search 411 on Yahoo and you will get her phone number, then you can call her....

When she email you did you use that email to respond? Sometimes people spell their name wrong so that you can't return their email.

Libra63 has the right idea. Pull some of your shipping records and get her name and address and chase her down through 411. If she has an unlisted number, try her next door neighbor. Bill collectors use that technique quite a bit. If you have ever shipped anything to her through FedEx, her number will be on the shipping documents and in their database which you can access if you have an account with them.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Or you could try emailing again to see if the server problem has been fixed

This persons e-mail has change and they simply forgot to update their ebay information page. Only way to get a hold of them is from your past records or simply lose the sale and hope someone else bids.

Good luck.
