Maybe some of you know what a spaghetti lamp is.....they were made of what looks like "hardened spaghetti" and fairly heavy and semi transulent spaghetti material. They fetch a nice buck usually. Today I found a 1960's light up Snowman made of the same material as the spaghetti lamps. He really is so cool, and large. The problem is I dont want to list him as a "spaghetti snowman" LOL!! What is this stuff called??. I can post a pic if you tell me how
Thanks!!

All you have to do to post a pic is [img*]name of pic here[/img*] Take out the * when you go to post pic and it will work .To get the name of your pic ....go to Vendio image hosting where you have it and right click on picture ...hit properties then copy and paste url where it says name of pic here

You are calling it by the correct name...."spaghetti lamp". Here are some other key words you could put in the title if they'll fit...
"Eames Era Retro Lucite SNOWMAN Spaghetti Lamp". Play around with these and / or add "figural", "vintage" in there? I had a friend sell one large red globe on a chain about 6 weeks ago...she put retro in the title...it sold for over $100.00! Your snowman sounds unusual..Good Luck!

Thanks toasted36, but I dont really follow your directions. Maybe you can try to explain it again.... Inot, thanks for the suggestion, I like that title quite a bit!

Just a suggestion....list it in a collectible Christmas catagory, that way you'll attract both vintage Christmas collectors and you'll draw the buyers searching by key words too, without it getting lost in the vast "lighting" catagories.

[*img]http://imagehost.venio.com/preview/mi/micmic66/picname.jpg[*/img]

replace picname with the name of your picture and leave out the *s i have put between the brackets

if you try and it doesn't work we can help you.

micmic.....your title says you need a quick answer. I'm curious. Why did this have to be a quick answer. Is there a difference in this case between a knowledgable answer right now, or 48 hours from now?

micmic: Be sure the name of your picture starts with a capital letter! I didn't realize it was case sensitive the first hundred or so times I *tried* to post a picture here. Good luck.

Roadsmith, my pics names never start with a capital? i do always have to use JPG and not jpg though.

Yes! I just realized as I edited photos last night that I always capitalize the name. I guess that's why I have to do that when I'm sending a photo here. Duhhhhh. Too soon old, too late smart, as the Pa. Dutch would say.

Hi,

I copy and paste the link, which you can find by right-clicking on your picture and highlighting properties.

Saves typing and thinking...

Lucy: Would you help me with something? I can't seem to get an answer to this anywhere. You said, above, to right click on picture and copy and paste the "properties." NO one has been able to tell me if this means the actual WORD "properties" comes up when I right click or if some synonym of properties is what you're talking about. What does "properties" actually mean?

This problem has kept me from doing what you suggest, above, and instead I have to laboriously type out the entire location for the picture.

I have Netscape and Windows XP, if that helps any.

Roadsmith-go into manage images and click the image that you want, then right click to get the information box and at the bottom is says properties. Click that. Then in the middle of the next page there is an address like this:

http://imagehost.vendio.com/preview/li/libra63/earringlotc.jpg

That is the address of your image, well that is mine but your will look similar. If you want to post a picture here all you do is put in the brackets [*img]address[/img*] without the asteric. If you are trying to insert your image into your auction I think all you need to do is put that address in. Does that help?

Hi,

Adele, I struggled and struggled with this stuff...

Try it out... Go to any image in your Vendio Manage Images and follow Libra's directions.

Thanks Libra. Here are some embellishments to your great instructions!

Here's what I see when I right-click on one of my pictures.

http://imagehost.vendio.com/preview/oh/ohmslucy/forksilver1.jpg

It's in the middle of the Properties page.

Highlight the information to the right of "Address: (URL)" and then, with your mouse on top of the highlighted part, right-click, and click Copy in the drop down menu that appears.

After you've done that you can click on cancel to get rid of the "Properties" window.

Now copy this data where "address" is, between [*img] and [*img/], but without the asterisks (stars), of course.

To do this, click between the brackets once you've created them and then right click.

This will bring up a drop down menu, which should this time have a "Paste" option available. Click on it and you should see the data you copied appear.

After I paste my picture address into the brackets, here's what posts:

Hope this helps...

Lucy

Editing to mention what Inot posted down below.

"When I right click on any image, "properties" does not display as an option.I don't know why? I'll look into it tomorrow. But I did have an option to "view info", so I went into that and found the http location."

So if you don't get properties when you right-click on an image maybe you'll see view info.

Different browsers, maybe?

Good searching Inot!

Hey!

Good for you Inot!

Now there's another Vendioer (is that really a word???) to help out.

" Vendioer (is that really a word???)" It is now! lol!
I had a little trouble with finding "properties" as the directions mention. In fact, I never found it. When I right click on any image, "properties" does not display as an option.I don't know why? I'll look into it tomorrow. But I did have an option to "view info", so I went into that and found the http location. I just wanted to mention this in case anyone else is trying out the directions and perhaps ran into a similar glitch. Thanks again everybody!

Okay, here goes!

VOILAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Inot: You and I have the same kind of box. Doesn't work as our pals have suggested here.

Here's what I did, and you can try it:

Right click on the picture itself. At the BOTTOM of "our" box, click on "copy image location." That's all you need to do! (Isn't this great?) Go somewhere and paste it in, then add the [img} [/img] stuff.

Our friends here must have a different version of ?whatever? software? than you and I do. That "properties" business absolutely drove me mad whenever I tried to follow people's directions.

Good luck!

Congrats Adele!!

Lucy

P.S. I wonder if Micmic66 has been following what the original request for info about a Spaghetti Snowman lamp started? Talk about a derailed thread!

Come to think of it, he/she never did get the picture posted...

LOL!

Could we perhaps help Micmic post the picture? I was wondering a while back whether we should start a new thread just for the picture "properties" etc. business. I feel soooo good now, knowing how to do that easily. I was really worn out today, lack of sleep and had to make an unexpected 80-mile round trip to get hubby and friends who were stranded on a field trip. But THIS triumph rejuvenates me!

Morning all...

Micmic's picture is up and running in the Snowman thread, with Tomwiii's help.

Adele, I like your idea of a thread on how to post pictures. Looks like the only thing I missed was the difference between Netscape and Microsoft Explorer...

Which just shows to go 'ya we all learn something every day.

Lucy
