UPDATE 6/9: Remember this item? Yard-sale for 20 CENTS!! It sold last night for $52.00. Happy-dance time!

Got this a week ago at a yard sale for 20 cents. Surely I can sell it for a little more?? It is pressed, not cut, glass, 12.5" high, silver trim. No marks.

It's a reproduction claret jug.

Roadsnith, you don't have to sell everything on eBay. I've consigned a few of those wine pitchers to an antique auction house in my area, and everytime they sold for over $100 to idiot eBay sellers. I don't deal in that stuff typically, but I can't resist picking up items like that when I am out and about and see them, that I know will do well in a live venue.

I am not hotcupoftea on eBay.

Thanks, Fluffy. Now to figure out where to place it in the glassware.

Hotcup--Well, for 20 cents I felt I couldn't go wrong! I'll list it low, and if it doesn't sell, I'll consign it at the nearest town's auction (30 miles down the mountains).

You know, I'm not getting rich on ebay, and I don't expect to support our family with this. But I do enjoy buying something intriguing for practically nothing, doing the research, and learning as I go along. One of the ways I learn is to try to sell the little treasures from yard sales. And I'm getting smarter all the time! Trouble is, collectibles are such a danged varied field that I fear I'll die of old age before I learn enough to be scary.

The pattern looks a bit like Anchor Hocking Wexford. Hard to tell, though from the pic.

Annekila: Thank you for that tip! I found one that's almost identical in the Wexford site, slightly different body shape, that's all. The seller is guessing Wexford, too. That's good enough for me. I'll double list it also in Barware, decanters. Here's the link:
