I don't use Paypal at all for my auctions. I just received a payment from a bidder in Europe. Is there a way to refuse payment instead of refunding the payment through Paypal? I remember having to go through some obscure steps to do this? PLEASE HELP ME

I tried to find it and I can not find the refuse button. I checked all over their site and can't find anything on it at all. I found how to REFUND but not how to Refuse payment.

there is no REFUSE,just REFUND.
you have 30 days to do it and incur no fee.
every penny he sent you is sent back to him as if nothing has happened.

Yahoo PayDirect has 'refuse' and Paypal has 'refund'. Both methods are free to both parties.

If you want to automatically refuse future non-US Paypal payments, click "Profiles" and then click "Payment Receiving Preferences."

Thanks so very much for your help. I do not have a paypal logo on my auctions. Actually in big letters on each of my auctions, it plainly states that I do not accept paypal

I just refunded the payment and tried to find the area on Paypal where I change the payment receiving preferences and I can't find it? (GEEZ, you can really tell I don't use paypal very much)
I found profile but not payment receiving preferences . The headings under profile are: Account information, Financial Information and Selling preferences. Where do I go from here or am I really in the wrong area
Thanks again so much

Paloma:
1. Log into your PayPal account.
2. Go to "Profile".
3. Under "Selling Preferences" click on "Payment Receiving Preferences".
4. Check the box that says "Block payments from users who have non-U.S. PayPal accounts".
5. Change any other preferences you want, while you're there.
6. Be sure to hit "Save" at the bottom of the screen.
That's all there is to it!

paloma91 I found profile but not payment receiving preferences
"Payment Receiving Preferences" is a seller's option that you'll only find if you have a Premier or Business account. If you're using a personal account stop looking for it, you won't find it.

There you go! THAT is my problem! That's why I couldn't find it! Thanks so very very much. I refunded the payment. Hopefully this won't come back to bite me.
