I feel awful. I retracted a bid. Actually, I had two auctions up on my screen and bid on the wrong one. I though, okay, it's only $1.00 not awful. However, the shipping on that $1.00 is $48!!!!! Two plates from China. Now, I've shipped overseas plenty of times and I know that two small (dessert size) plates do not cost $48 to ship. So, do I continue to feel bad or feel lucky that I caught myself before the auction ended?
PS I've never, ever done this before and usually stick with my mistakes. But the $48 for a $1.00 bid for an item that has a bin of $9.99 I think I can make an exception for.

It sure did save me some trouble. Trouble with my other half, trouble with my checking account and trouble with my budget. Because, if I had won it, I would have paid for it. I would have been kicking myself clear into next week. The item is worth no more than $10.

the chinese sellers from china ship UPS and it is expensive.they also have to get form to fill out for permission to export these items, certain antiques over 100 years old or 150 years old are not allowed outside the country.
UPS rate in china is much higher than in USA.and their post office system is not reliable
