I know nothing about glass. I've had this thing forever and am ready to get rid of it. First, I know it's painted by Lotus Glass and I know that Lotus Glass Company didn't make glass. Does anyone have any idea who could have made this glass or have you seen a similar set? Also, what would you call it? There is a place for napkins in the rear. Snack Set doesn't seem right because doing a search on eBay for Snack Set gets the sort with plates and cups. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 1950's??

Cheryl,
Lotus is still in business. They apparently got big into barware in the 50's. The thing is, they bought blank glass from everybody. So pinning this down is not going to be easy.

I have no idea what your set is. Kind of looks like two ice tubs and glasses.

How big are the glass pieces? Perhaps for relish or mayonnaise and mustard?

The bowls are 18" in diameter and 5" tall so they are quite large. The smaller one is 11" in diameter and 4-1/2" tall. Maybe chips, pretzels and nuts? There's a nice place for the napkins in the back of it.

Those are big! Yes, most likely for chips, etc. Looks to be 1950's when they had the chip and dip bowls in the metal racks as well as drinking glasses in metal racks or holders.

Ah, the 50's. When everything was geared to make that stay-at-home wife more organized. What do we do? Throw the chips into a Tupperware bowl, put it and the dip in its container smack in the center of the table. That is, when we aren't just eating right out of the bag.

I noticed the sizes that wrote for the bowls. Are you sure that the diameter is 18 inches and the height 5 inches. Because the big bowls look a bit wider than they are high, but nothing like the size differences you mentioned. Did you mean that the circumference is 18 inches? I am not being picky, I am just curious.
Cheers,
Adrian
