Never again will I put on a piece of jewelry that I don't know what I have.

These are two pins with exact same crystals but different color. Can you tell me what the crystals are called. They both are unsigned, the brown one is a little smaller but made the same as the other one. I think they are from the 50's.

This piece has beautiful deep rich colors and at the end of each crystal is a rhinestone. I have earrings to match this one.

This one is just plain crystal but equally as pretty. No earrings with this one.

Thanks for your help.....

Hi Libra - They look like vintage Swarovski to me with an AB finish (aurora borealis). Swarovski are machine cut and more lead, which makes them extra crisp and sparkly.

Yep. The beads are vintage Swarovski center-drilled flowers (probably Art. No. 3700), and have been discontinued. When you list them, measure the brooches themselves and then count the individual crystals and measure one to give an idea of what size they are (this is expressed in millimeters.)... someone might buy these with the intention of taking them apart.

I would say that the top pin is either Olivine AB (if the glass itself appears to be colored) or vitrail (if the glass appears to be clear.) The second pin might be in a discontinued color known as "mink" (or then again, it might not - really hard to tell on this monitor.)

This site: Beadinpath has representatives of almost all the discontinued Swarovski styles.(tomwii Thanks didn't realize it didn't work. I fixed it too to go straight to the Swarovski. )

The last question you have to answer is whether the pin itself was made by Swarovski, or by another jewelry maker using Swarovski components. Look on the back for the Swarovski mark, which will be either a little swan or a little beehive. (edited to add: I remembered another Swarovski mark - SAL and the copyright sign. This is an older mark but I don't know when they stopped using it.)

Nice finds!

Thanks Missincognito for all your helpful information. That site is really nice and I bookmarked it for furthur reference. My pins are not marked In the top pin when you look down at the crystals they look dark green on the outside then with a center that is red or yellow, pink or blue color. They are just gorgeous. Earrings are a smaller verson of the Pin. The brown one has a center of gold color.
