I don't sell depression glass so I don't know if this compote is new or old. Reproduction or not. Any help? The color is not gold but a light amber and it is 6 inches high. I do have a candy dish the same color but I know that is depression glass as it was my mothers and I have carried it around for 45 years. I have depression glass books as I use to do this in my other life but I gave it up when I started to do eBay but I can't find it in any of my books.

Libra, is this marked anywhere? I could be wrong, but this looks very much like my favorite heisey pattern, Colonial or Puritan. Not all heisey was marked and some were marked at the edge of the handle or in strange places. Look for a H in a diamond.

What is throwing me is the shape of the handles...still heisey but not those patterns.

It is a beautiful piece.

No I don't think it is those. I checked my book again and I cannot find any pattern that has a foot like that. I can't believe how many different handles one pattern has. Thanks rariffle.

Imperial made that style handle in a pattern called Fancy Colonial. Here is an auction to compare.

Thanks kiara ~ Those are the handles and also the base is the same. Does anyone have the book 'Fifty Years of Collectible Glass' (pg 97).
I don't I have elegant glassware and depression glass but not that book. I would appreciate it if whoever has it can look in and see if this pattern is there. Thanks a heap.

I believe that it is Elegant Glassware of the Depression Years and was made by Westmoreland.

I do have that book, Libra. I didn't even remember that I did until now when I found it in my bookcase. I don't see that pattern though.

dorrie may have it right as Westmoreland as I see they have the same handle. The closest I see is a pattern called Little Jo but I only have one pic of it so it's hard to tell.

Thanks for all your help. I won't put it on until I find out what it is and that might be forever. It is just beautiful and in perfect condition so into the china cabinet it will go until I find out.
