I don't want to hear any complaining from any working class FOOL that voted for Bush. You are all getting what you voted for. The RICH are getting RICHER, our WORKING CLASS KIDS are getting killed everyday in Iraq, and the economy SUCKS.

Right on NativeAmerican and Bigpeepa!

The other day I saw a young woman
wearing a T-shirt with the McDonalds arch logo (upside down) with following:

"George W. Bush: Billions of Corporations Served."

How true.

What are you guys selling? I sell Antiques / vintage items and sales have been very good, and I don't give BUSHWACK any credit for that. I have just been lucky and have bought the right things for re-sale. I consign alot of items too, so I don't have to put as much of my own money out...that really helps keep my money where it should be..in the bank! Try researching new items to sell....this is how I search ebay to look for things that are selling well....Go to the advanced "search"....type in ANY key word for anything you might consider selling.....type in a dollar amout ( I usually do $9.99 & $99.00 and up), then click on "completed items". The results of that search will give you a good idea of what is selling well now ( sometimes you have to read between the lines, such as taking notice of how many bids the item received). That can signal the beginning trend of a "hot" item. OR maybe there are alot of bids, and not many of this item available. If what you are selling isn't doing well, you should change what you are selling. People are away on vacation and busy with their families right now. They are not necessarily shopping....don't worry, things will pick up again. Take this slow time to do something constructive with your business, take a class, attend a few auctions or wholesale trade shows, learn something new...Change is GOOD!

I didn't realize this was a political forum. Please keep your viewpoint on our President to yourself because there are many who just don't want to hear it. Don't like it here? Move.

leapfrogger: YOU and PEOPLE like you make me sick. We have just as much right to say and feel as we like. That is WHY we live here... in AMERICA... a FREE COUNTRY!! I am pretty sure you wouldn't want your freedom of speech taken away so I would kindly ask you to keep that in mind when telling people they can't voice their opinion about the president. I am sure you have your opinion about past presidents and it would piss you off if you were told to move because you didn't agree with the president of the time. It is people like you that say that people who are against Bush are unpatriotic... which is the biggest line of crap I ever heard. I think it is people like me and the others here that are the MOST PATRIOTIC BECAUSE WE CARE ABOUT THE AMERICAN CITIZENS AND THEIR FUTURE IN THE WORLD AND THEIR ECONOMIC FUTURE!!!!
It is a proven fact that he does service the corporations and not the working man (the working man being the people who bid and sell on ebay!) So, yes the economy is in the bucket and that affects our sales... thanks Bush...enjoy your next year and half... because you will be gone in one term just like dear old Daddy.

leapfrogger,

How is this not the appropriate forum? Sales on eBay (in general) are poor. (why do you think they've been trying so many different promotions lately!) The economy of our country is in the toilet. (look at the 1% rate the Fed's passed and the unemployment rate!) It doesn't take a brain surgeon to recognize that there might be a correlation between the two. Goverment policies affect business. Bush's administrations policies are not helping the average small-time businesses, or the working class. I, for one, had much better sales when Clinton was in office. Personally, I did not vote for Bush last election, and will be more than glad to vote against him this year! I'm more than ready to start seeing some true economic stimulus so that more people will have money to spend on my eBay items!

I'd like to hear you cite just one of Bush's policies that are directly affecting your bottom line on ebay. Do you not think that the Terrorist attacks/threats have something to do w/the state of our economy? Do you think Bush asked for all of that to happen? Why is everyone so quick to blame one man for all the woes of our country?

I've been selling for a while, it's ALWAYS slow this time of year - no matter who is in office.

WE BLAME HIM BECAUSE HE TOOK (STOLE) THE JOB! I REALLY DON'T HAVE TIME TO LIST THE REASONS WE BLAME HIM BUT HERE ARE TWO FOR YOU TO CHEW ON LEAPFROGGER:
[br]1) HOW ABOUT THE TAX CUTS FOR THE CORPORATIONS AND HIS FAILURE AT STIMULATING THE ECONOMY.
[br]2) THE WAR HE STARTED FOR NO APPARANT REASON (PROVIDE ME WITH PROOF OF THE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION.) THE WAR IS NOT FREE AND WE WILL BE PAYING FOR THAT FOR YEARS AND YEARS... IN MORE WAYS THEN MONITARY. WE ARE PAYING RIGHT NOW WITH OUR BOYS DYING OVER THERE IN IRAQ... REMEMBER IT IS MOSTLY DEMOCRATS THAT SIGN UP TO FIGHT FOR YOUR SORRY ASSES!

This post is for leapfrogger. I don't remember replying to you or asking you what you think. People like you show their CLASS by RUDELY jumping in on a reply that was not addressed to them. People like you don't want to hear the truth. leapfrogger, if you don't think things like THE RICH getting RICHER, KIDS getting killed everyday in Iraq and a BAD ECONOMY doesn't effect sales you live in a DREAM WORLD. I have paid taxes to this country for 45 years and have always done my best to make it a better place by giving in community service. It will be a cold day in Haiti when people like you can tell me where to go.

I am the wife, daughter and granddaughter of military veterans and quite proud of the job our President is doing in Washington.

The economy IS down right now but I don't think our President is to blame. You are all obviously looking for a fight and you won't get it from me. I'm sorry I made the "move" comment, but I do get tired of hearing criticism of someone I have a lot of respect for.

Let's put it this way. When Bush took office we had a surplus. We are now headed for the largest deficit in US history. Bush is not to blame? He gives tax cuts and then borrows money. Ebay profits are in the toilet for a lot of sellers because the economy is so poor. Who would you blame? Maybe you can take the high road and blame the poor. Everyone else on the right does anyway.

The economy is an ebay subject. It directly effects our sales. If you don't like what we say, you have the option of blocking us out. Simple. More and more, Bush supporters are in the minority. I wonder how that's going to feel in 2004.

Hate to burst all you haters bubble but the economic down turn started when ol' slick willie was the big P. It's going to take time to undo all the damage the leftists have done but after the smell of the slickster is removed we will be a better nation (when 43 is a second termer).

Sales are slow for every one now, it is that time of year. This time last year I was doing alot better.

My suppliers have raised their costs, so I in turn have raised my cost to start the biding at.

One problem is, not very many have gotten a raise in the paycheck, and along with other fee's that are higher,{gas, elect bills, car insurance, ect, ect} there is less and less to spend on Ebay.

As for the Bush's it runs in the family, father, son and brother.

WRightracing: You make good points. Sales are slow all around. I live in Chicago and retail is hurting -- except Walmart, which is bottom selling.

Now can you guys take this discussion to the Roundtable or another forum. This is not where the discussion should be!

The biggest problem is

Walmart

They buy some of the same items as I do, they put it in their stores, cheaper then I can buy it from the supplier.

Walmart is hurting all of our sales, and will only get worse.

Walmart is not the friendly neighborhood store, you think it is,(bursting your bubble}it effects us all, in every sale we make, or in this case the sales we don't make.

Also every store, or most of them now sell online.even the goodwill stores have an auction site.

YEEHAW!!!! The new thread police have arrived in town.

The topic is "Why are sales down". The discussion has every right to be in the Outlook.

Sales slow each year this time. Nothing has been the same since 9/11. Each year there is more competition on ebay and in the real world. That's the way it goes.

And the beat goes on.........
