Well saturday I had a HUGE garage sale with a few of my neighbors. When we put up the signs Friday night, I noticed more garage sale signs posted than usual! More than I have ever seen before! My garage sale had the usual garage sale stuff as well as some of the things I couldnt sell on ebay.

It was very strange. The things that usually sell didnt and the things that never sell did. I had my prices lower than any garage sale I had ever been too. Clothes didnt sell at all. HUMMM this is weird, I thought. I went to the store around 6pm for food etc for dinner and run some errands. I Couldnt believe it. Almost every corner had a garage sale sign on it. There were garage sales still opened and doing business at almost 8pm last night! Can you believe it???

Now I know why I experienced that buying strangeness during the day. I have never seen anything like this.

So, if you are in the area of belmont, california and you want to stop by and say hi. Please do! I decided to have it today as well. Maybe there won't be so much competition today

Paloma,

Belmont's kind of big to do willy-nilly. Send me the cross streets and we'll wander by.

I agree, everybody has become aware of used items.

We have garage sales during the summer months at my bldg and the shoppers are bottom feeders. How much? $5. No, no $3. They negotiate like they're at Maxwell Street in Chicago.

Fluff, I'll email you the directions. I know you live a few cities over from me. Yes, Please stop by. I'd love to meet you in person. There are few things I havent put out yet that I will save for you. It looks like it won't be as hot today as it has been lately.

Oh, it's worse than that. I sold paperback childrens books for 25 cents each. They wanted 5 for that price.

Yep, we're in RWC, just a few short Caltrain stops away.

Are there any good breakfast places in Belmont? It's easier to get whatshisname out of the house if there is food in the offing.

I hit 3 garage sales this weekend and got some very nice things, mainly paintings that I'm going to resale.

But it seems that everybody is clearing out their closets and selling; no more giveaways to Good Will.

You're not kidding. My old favorite has dried up! Since they have their own auction site, all the "good stuff" goes there.

There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
