Can anyone tell me what you would call this type of photograph / print? It's on paper that feels like velum, very thin (flimsy) and transparent. The photograph/print (don't know which it is) is large at 8.5 x 11. It's more "stuff" from my boss. This and about 9 botanical prints. Oh, boy. I'm having fun now. It's hard to tell from the photo here. Any help at all would be appreciated. Loads!!!!

that the tibetans have a gadget made of leather thongs which when placed over a person's eyes, will gulge his his eyes out.
when the chinese went into tibet, they hate the chinese so much, thats what they used on the chinese.

Cheryl,
Is it possibly an old photocopy? The older photocopys didn't use regular paper.

Cheryl, here's some links that may help you.

http://www.essexcc.gov.uk/heritage/ero/conservation/photocare.htm
http://www.naa.gov.au/recordkeeping/rkpubs/advices/advice7.html

Judging by the subject matter, I'd say it's more recent than the 1940's so cellulose nitrate and probably diacetate would be out. I'd say contact someone at a nearby museum or through one of these sites. They are usually so gung ho about conservation of the photo they'll teach you more than you'll ever need!

Very cool looking by the way. Are the botanicals also black and white? Let us kow when you list them, they'd go well in my future library!

The picture is actually Cleveland. When I don't know. I know it's not terribly old. Just strange.

The botanical prints are color lithograph types and professionally matted and framed. Here are a sample of them (I photographed them quick so forgive the quality). I have no idea who did them. Looks like initials are PK (I think K is for Kunz?) So if anyone can help me out there, too, I'd appreciate it. My boss's wife wents nuts on these things for awhile. So I told my other half he should feel lucky that I'm not that nutty. LOL! I also have three bird ones that aren't framed. I saw the bill for the framing and it was over $300!!! I'm going on vacation from 7/4 until the afternoon of 7/7 so I won't be listing until about the 10th. We're camping for the peace and quiet! No computers, no ebay. Yea!!
