Is there anyone here thats knows anything about Catchers Mitts. I would like a date if possible any anything else that someone knows about this glove. It is black, shows brown in the picture, all the ties are there and tied. In fact it is in really good shape. There is nothing close to it on eBay and I have looked under spaulding in the yahoo search. I will be waiting.......BTW is says Stadium series...

How does it fold? Most mitts from the 50's and 60' dont really fold or close like todays glove.. My guess would be late 70's even with the Yogi name because it looks like it closes more like todays gloves.

It is closed and hard to open. I did find a number on it. 42-085. The logo is just a white S in a blue circle about the size of a half dollar. It is made in the Philippines.
I did find one from the late 60's on another board but no picture but a number that was 42-785. Do the numbers have anything to do with a date? Nothing else that I can see. It doesn't look like it has been used much. I purchased it at a garage sale and couldn't pass it up because all he wanted was a quarter for it. So what ever I make it will be a profit.....

Libra, that does look in good shape. I am sure it will sell well. Some things ya spend so much time researching it can drive ya batty!
