I'm sure this question has been asked and answered so many times it has whiskers, but I'm curious what everyone thinks.

I live on the East Coast, so I post at 7 p.m. PDT, which gives folks in California time to get home from work and jump on my auction. And it still only has the auctions closing on the East Coast at 10 p.m.

I know other people post (and therefore close) their auctions in the afternoon, but that seems a bad time for snipers. Anyway, what's the consensus?

Hi Marshall. Those are good times you listed.

Some items actually are better for daytime (and I hate to say it) but there are women staying at home bored in day time and get their chance when everybody's gone from the home. Some men home during day too, but the day time buyers/browsers seem to be more women. So if that helps, there ya go!

I am also on the east coast. I do think it depends on what you are selling. I like mid afternoons, Monday through Thursday. I have tried just about every time & this gets me the best sell through. So for me, 12:15 PST it is.

I have tried about every time and I find they all do about the same. I like ending my auctions on Monday nite but I go back to my old routine of Sunday nites. Now, I will have to rethink launching days because of Sunday and Monday nite football. I sell on one site men's items and on the other womens so the women's can end on those nights but I am moving the mens to probably Wednesday. I think time makes a difference because of Pacific time. I don't want to list so it goes way into the night for them.

I guess I'm seeing something totally different.

A lot of my customers bid from work. Some of them don't have internet access at home.

I can't tell you how many .gov email addresses I get. I even get state and federal judges who have no compunction about sending their payment in official envelopes. It really makes me wonder about the state of the judiciary.

Lots of other public employees, too, like the twit at the Consumer Product Safety Commission who threatened to sic the CPSC on me. I filed a formal complaint on her.

I start listing in the morning around 7:30-ish here in California and go as late as I can stay awake. Weekends I start a little later.

I am not a bathtub full of brightly-colored machine tools on Vendio.
