I am currently having "issues" with FedEx. They are the only shipping method I use right now. I was turned off of UPS because of their billing methods. I'm looking around at the Airborne web site and they seem like a great company. But I've never heard anything about them, good or bad. I guess it makes me nervous that they use these "couriers" instead of offical trucks with official employees.
I normally only use the 2nd day service because it is SO much cheaper, but occasionally do use the overnight service.
If anyone has had any experience with them, please let me know.

Had one run in with Airborne.
Someone sent me an item overnight.
Two weeks later they call to say driver can't find house.
They ask for landmark,I tell them (look for mailbox at end of driveway).
Got it the next day!

I have heard nothing but bad stuff about Airborne.
What kind of trouble are you having with Fedex? I never had a problem with them but mostly use ground.
You might want to try DHL, but I think they might have something to do with Airborne now though.
If you go through freightquote.com they give pretty good prices.

Thanks for the response! Doesn't look too encouraging with them.
My "issue" with FedEx is that they have been overcharging me for certain services that I should be getting a discount for. They will correct it, but I'm tired of calling billing every time they do. Besides that, I'm very happy with their service. Maybe I'll just tough it out with them.

I guess you knew, somewhat like Airborne, the FedEx Ground drivers are just contractors and not employees of FedEx.
FedEx (RPS) set it up this way to keep their drivers from joining a labor union. Each driver, as far as I know has to provide his own truck and maintenance. Around here, when their trucks break down, they get a rental truck and drive it for the day.

My supplier recently started using DHL, and I am having about a 70% rate of damage to items shipped to me. Don't want to blame DHL but never seen this percentage with UPS before.

If you think you have issues now, just wait until you use Airborne.
I ordered a computer system that was supposed to be 2nd day air. The first box got there in 5 days and the other 3 came every other business day. The drivers acted like it was no big deal. Now I ask if they use Airdeade.

I had to use airborne to deliver plane tickets. They gave my tickets to the wrong person and I never got them. I had to call the airline and luckily they reissued the tickets at the last minute. I called airborne to complain and they could have cared less. They told me to go knock on doors and go look for the tickets myself. Do not use them or you will be sorry.
