Can anyone out there tell me a good reason for a seller not answering a buyers Question?

I buy a lot on Ebay and any other site that has what I want.

If the description is good I never ask questions,I just buy!

If the description is poor I want to know for sure what I'm buying!

I'm right now trying to buy something on Ebay, but the description is vauge, and it's getting down to the wire.
Has no bids is a high price item, looks like it will not sell.
All they need is to get back to me and it will sell for sure, still no answer.
I've been sending questions for 5 days now.
If he's not around to answer, then when will he be around to send item after I buy & pay?

I answer any and all questions put to me in one way or another!

If it's a question about the item, the customer get a full responce to the best of my knowledge!
If it's a ridiculus question, they get put on my BBL!
Either way it gets answered!

This is not a rare item, I could buy it anywhere.

dads, its sure not very good business practice. I'd be suspecious if they did not answer my emails if I had a question about something. Prolly wouldn't bid and wait on the next one.

They have what I want, been looking for a while.
But: If they don't answer I'm not buying.
I can walk in and carry out less than a mile from here!

Maybe your mail is being bounced. Maybe they are on vacation and launched before they left. Maybe they upgraded their computer system five days ago and have been in PC hell ever since... there are numerous potential answers.

If it's really Common Sense, why do so few people actually have it?

What's the seller's feedback like? I agree it is rude not to answer questions.

REcently there was a wall pocket in England that I was very interested in. There was NO description, just a picture and the auction title! I searched up and down, back and forth on the auction page thinking I was missing something.

I e-mailed the seller and asked if he was aware there was no item description showing and asked size, weight, any marks?, etc. He wrote back snippy-like and said "as I said in my auction description". . . and proceeded to tell me the answers to my questions.

I thanked him and went back to the auction page, and folks, there was NO description! If I got a question like that from a buyer, the FIRST thing I'd do is go to the auction page and see what's going on.

In customer service courses, we always taught the class attendees that a question isn't just a question! There's usually something basic the questioner doesn't know, and your materials may not be telling him the answers.

Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I'm always notified when my mail is returned.
Haven't received any yet!
It's annoying, but it's not money out of my pocket!

Feedback: over 5,000 with 4 NEG pretty good I'd say!
He's a power seller.

His feedback doesn't impress me his response would!

A simple question that will be written on the item since it's new!

"Why won't they answer?"

Because they are not interested in selling this item to you.

Sorry, but I thought this was pretty obvious.

That's O.K.

Then the new question is:

Why did they spend money listing it if they didn't want to sell it?

I said "They don't want to sell it to you".

Don't ask me why. You would know better than I. You did say that you buy a lot on eBay. One possibility is that they have multiple selling IDs and you have given them merry hell over another auction by another ID. They recognize your username.

I used to sell a lot under a different (now unused) ID. I carried the bidder block list over to my current main ID. So I get bewildered emails every so often wondering why they are blocked. I ignore 'em.

Just a theory....which you can test by sending them email from a different username.

Often when I don't get an answer it's a high volume seller, so I assume they just don't have the time.

Fluff:
I said "They don't want to sell it to you".

You could be right!
And that's OK.
Their item didn't sell, cost me nothing!

But in this case they would have to have a different ID because I've never delt with this one before!

Fluff:

What do you think of this?

It didn't sell at auction.
So they listed it in their store.
After carefull inspection of the photo I was able to gather the info I needed.

So I bought it in store for 20.00 less than they wanted at auction!

They left feedback right after I paid and shipped the same day.

What makes people tick?
I'll never figure it out!

"What makes people tick?"

If I knew that, I'd be rich now.

Congrats on finally getting it and at a good price, too. I'm just as baffled as you.

Is there a difference inspecting the picture in the store than in the auction ???
