Hi all...
Perhaps some of you that have experience might be able to explain. My auctions took off fairly well in the beginning of my "new business" with ebay and then suddenly I discover that they've slowed to a crawl. Is this normal?
I also find that another seller has "lifted" my photo for some diabetic supplies (taken myself) and used it to list MULTIPLE auctions for the same item that undercut mine! Then I try to write to the seller and my eMails will not go thru. Now I'm concerned that these auctions may have hurt mine and I see that he/she is no longer listing anything. All this while I didn't even know it was going on.
How do you all "protect" your businesses and your reputations while still focusing on buying/selling/shipping and finding new merchandise?? It seems an impossibility...
Frustrated
Sally

All this while I didn't even know it was going on.
How could they have hurt your auctions?

If the other seller's auctions are over, then there is nothing you can do, just bookmark that seller and watch for future auctions.
If you put as much effort into your auctions, as you seem to be wanting to do for some seller you claim took your pictures, you will be better off.

Hi Twelvepole,
I guess I'm not sure what you mean...this is the first time I noticed that anyone can "take" someone elses photos...I thought that was wrong. Am I incorrect? And perhaps you could explain what you mean by "If you put as much effort into your auctions, as you seem to be wanting to do for some seller you claim took your pictures, you will be better off."
I have put all my attention into my auctions...and none into "hunting down" the problems. But when reading the forums one sees all the "fraud" taking place, and one starts to have questions (as most should do in a new business) then you start looking to find help and understanding. That was the purpose of my post. Just simple. A friendly seller looking for friendly help. Thanks for answering!

...and in answer to your question about "how could they hurt my auctions?" ...
If someone "lifted" my photo's (which I took in my home) and then used them on multiple auctions (price undercutting my price) for the same product; never shipped and stole money from unsuspecting buyers....then those buyers (still looking for the same product) would come across my auctions and be very skitterish seeing the same photo's. Guilty by association....
I wrote to the seller that I spoke of and the eMail bounced back to me. I then checked to see what auctions that person had online and see that currently there are none. Since I don't know the online world and business as well as you do...I simply thought someone might have a broader vision than my own. Tx!

if you use ebay ask a seller question to email the seller,it should go thru.
ebay sales is slow right now and there is a lot of competition out there.
thats just life in big city, the easy money on ebay was over many moons ago.

Here is eBay policy on image and description stealing.

http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/png-text-and-images.html

First I would check my account and see if you are being charged for each picture that they are using or did they copy your image to a floppy and then use it from there. Next it is up to you what you want to do. If you find they are using them again you can turn them in. You can also turn them in for invalid contact information as that is also against eBays rules

If it was me I would try and do what stop said and go through ask the seller a question and see what happens but bookmark the user ID and keep checking. It is very frustratin when you put all your effort to make your images and description to your liking and then you find out someone else is lazy by taking it from you. This is a good place to come and read as there are heads up people in here to help. Good Luck
