I've agreed to sell a tea set for a friend. It's "Cliffs of Dover," by Paragon. All are undamaged and very nice.

1. There is no teapot.

2. Four cups and 6 saucers.

3. 6 small plates

4. Creamer and sugar

5. larger plate/platter with "ears."

I'm thinking: separate auctions for creamer and sugar, larger plate/platter, 4 cups and saucers, 6 small plates. So there'd be two extra saucers, which I know are hard to sell.

Do you have any ideas for me? Thanks in advance.

wow... that IS a beautiful pattern ... found one to look at - ebay #2654824119 ... I think I might try it as a set with a not low starting bid ... if no takers, then break it up .... heck even the saucers are pretty by themselves ...

It is beautiful.

Here is the page at replacements.com. You probably won't get that much but it gives you a start as to what to put it on for. Good Luck

Thanks, both of you! I hadn't done a search for this in the past month.

I hadn't thought to sell the plate with the cup and saucer as a 3-pc. set but it makes perfect sense! Then I could sell the sugar and creamer together, and the larger plate/platter, and in the meantime offer the two extra saucers and plates to buyers along the way. I'll watch this current auction to see how it does.

I agree it's a pretty set. I'm even thinking of listing it also in militaria for WWII, since the White Cliffs of Dover were so prominent (song, etc.).

One more question for all the experts. Is there a special name for the larger plate/platter? It's the size of a dinner plate with elongated "handles" on two sides. I wouldn't exactly call it a tray, but. . . .

Your "platter" sounds like it could be a cake plate.

Ditto the cake plate.

"Trio" is the English name for the cup/saucer/luncheon plate combo.

As for the extra saucers....
