What you think of this -- is it an eyeroll, Yeah right? Or could it possibly be legit? Item was won on august 28th.

Tessa,
Sorry for the delay. My computer caught that nasty virus and was worried about doing any transactions in fear it would spread. Becareful this virus has to do with Ebay. I am currently suspended because the virus
sent a notice to Ebay that I wish to end my
membership. Do not answer ANY emails from Ebay! It's a huge mess. I will make payment today as the virus is fixed now. Thank you for your patience.

Bullpuckey!

I don't think you CAN end an account with eBay. At the very least you couldn't do it by email.

If she is truly listed as NARU, then take it as a sign. File for FVF and move on. If she isn't NARU, maybe you could contribute to her NPB count and make it happen.

Tessa,

I uderstand the skepticism is probably appropriate, but I've run into my share of computer morons...

Could it have been something that her machine was infected and it kept sending e-mail to eBay so eBay killed her account because it was being barraged by her system? That could have been a security measure...

She just couldn't explain it properly 'cause all this computer stuff is pretty foreign to her... How long has she been on eBay?

Wayne,
Member since Nov 02.
I always give people the benefit of doubt even to the point of ridculously stretching it. But I am surprised to find she is a seller and apparently sells more than she buys.

But yeah, I guess the virus could have done that and Ebay could have suspended her account from it. I suppose I can ask ebay why she is NARU'd, do you think they would tell me?

I'm fairly certain that you can get ebay to end your account if you desire that. If that is the case here I don't know.

Here it is:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/account/closing-account.html

Closing Your eBay Account

We value members' participation in the eBay community and hope you'll Contact Us. to address any issues that may have prompted you to close your account.

Note that if you choose to close your eBay account, it cannot be reopened.

How to close your account

First, submit a formal request to permanently close your account.

If you've listed or bid on an item recently, eBay requires a waiting period of 180 days before closing your account. During the waiting period, you won't be able to bid, make purchases, list items, or change your contact information--but you'll still have access to your account information.
When the waiting period is over, you'll receive an email confirming that your account has been closed. After this, you'll no longer be able to access any part of eBay that requires an account, and your feedback profile will no longer be available to other members.

Notes:
Before closing your account, be sure that the balance in your seller's account is paid in full or that you've received a refund, if one is due.

The feedback you've left for other users will not be deleted when you close your account. If your User ID is your email address, you may wish to change your User ID before requesting account closure.

You might receive email from eBay for up to two weeks after closing your account. After this, eBay will not contact you, except to collect outstanding fees if your account has not been fully paid.

with all those negs in the last month, sure sounds like it could be virus problems to me.

Just because she has been on ebay for a while, don't take for granted she is computer or ebay savvy.

I have been on ebay for 3 years and I learn about new ebay rules and regs every week on this board.
