I picked up a service for 12 plus serving pieces at an estate sale. Now, how do I market it? Do I split it up, or sell it as a set? I know some of you sell to Replacements, and deal in dinnerware in general. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would check out the prices on replacements.com and if it is priced pretty high it means it must be a hard to find and/or popular pattern. If they have a good price on individual pieces then I would break it up otherwise sell it as a set. Depends on how much trouble you want to go to in writting seperate auctions.
I am going to email replacements next week and ask what they would give me for a set of dishes I bought today. If the price is high enough I will sell to them otherwise I'll break it up and go with eBay.

You will almost always do much better to break it down into several smaller lots. Be sure to cross reference each auction to the others. If someone wants the whole set, he can bid on all of the auctions. Be sure to mention that you will combine wins to save them money on shipping. That is a big factor that many bidders consider when bidding. Don't be surprised if two or three bidders wind up buying the whole set.
