I read the longer thread on Vendio Services and just get more confused. OK...I've turned the PayPal "ALI" preference OFF on my account. I've changed my Vendio preferences to "Add PayPal pay button/logo"...(this was the second option; previously, I'd had the first option selected). Will my auctions be OK and will my buyers be able to go directly to PayPal from my auctions to pay? Thanks for helping this technical idiot!

Isn't that thread a nightmare??? This is my understanding..sounds like you are "good to go"!

The deal is....
PayPal is not going to use the Automatic Logo Insertion anymore sooooooooo

If you WANT to include the "pay now" button in your auctions (probably those of us who have fixed or known s/h in our auctions), you should have your Vendio global preference set to the second option. Some VD techs say to turn off your ALI PayPal tabs and others say you can leave it on - wouldn't hurt to turn it off to make sure there are no problems.

If you DON'T WANT to include the "pay now" button and would like to display the PayPal Logo in your auctions (probably for those who would like buyers to go through Vendio check out or who want to communicate the s/h charges before the buyer pays wrong amount) you should make sure your Vendio prefernce is set for the first ("recommended" option of displaying the logo only and make sure your Pay Pal ALI button is off.

If you participate in the cash back debit card program you should see a new preference for "pay pal preferred" on you paypal account tab.

You've turned the: ALI off at your acct.
The way I read it you will no longer receive the 1.5% cash back if you use the Debit card.

Did I read it right?

That's exactly how I read it.

I don't think so..your ALI can be turned off but your "PayPal" preferred (under the ALI and WBN notification place) must be turned on.

One question: I just did what's suggested above. I also notice in my global preferences that the box which appears at the top of the page with instructions to the buyer is blank. I used to have it filled in with a message. I don't see it any longer on the completed auction page. Is there something I'm missing? Or has Ebay changed things again?

Here is the requirements to maintain your 1.5% cash back - yes you can turn your ALi off BUT the PayPal Preferred on eBay preference MUST BE turned on

The requirements for receiving 1.5% cash back after September 25 are as follows:

Obtain and activate a PayPal MasterCard ATM/Debit Card.

List at least one item on eBay every three weeks, and have a valid eBay user ID and password registered with PayPal.

Make sure PayPal is the only online payment option you advertise in your eBay listings.

Maintain an active PayPal Premier or Business account.

Have the PayPal Preferred on eBay preference turned on. You can do this by clicking on the Auctions link from PayPal's Profile tab or, at the end of September from your payment preferences within My eBay.
