Made me VERRRRRRRRY leary...on the pay pal notice this is the way it started out. Any time I see anything from e bay I now wonder is it REAL or is it,,,,,,,FAKE? Anyone else get a pay pal payment today stating that as the firt line of information? Never said that before. I am positive because like I said any e mails I get with e bay in the info. is 99% of the time FAKE!

Hi Jack,

The subject line on my PayPal payment notices is: Item #XXXXXXXXXX - Notification of an Instant Purchase Payment Received.

Did you check the headers to see if it's really from PayPal? On mine, the first entry is: Return-Path: <[email protected]>

You might want to check your PP account. It looks kinda fishy to me...

That's good. Do they all check out in your PP account?

This is a prime reason those sending out "spoof" emails to rob someone, need to be taken down with extreme prejudice...

Just out of curiosity... why was your fist reaction to sign in here and ask others what they thought rather than sign into your PayPal account and confim a matching transaction?

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?
