Hey, can anybody suggest some movies that are like intense drama/action/thriller types?
My nephew's birthday is coming up and he wants me to look for DVD's on Ebay for him.
"Just get me some good movies to add to my collection" he tells me....(like yeah!I'll do a search that way!)
He likes DeNiro and I guess psych thrillers.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tessa

The Cape Fear remake with DeNiro is a classic scary movie.

Strangers on a Train (Hitchcock)
Boondock Saints
Identity
Insomnia
The Killers (great 2 DVD set--contains both the 1930's and the 1960s versions, plus a 1950's student film from the USSR, and more)

Insomnia was a snorefest - not an "intense drama". The Score is pretty good - Deniro, Brando, Edward Norton - nice heist film. 13 Days is excellent (and I generally hate Cosner) and a piece of history relived. Depending on his age, you might want to consider the Oz season box sets...Fantastic show, gritty, compelling, violent without gore. You also might want to get him a subscription to Netflix which will le him explore new films without the possibility of owning some real dogs : ) - I get 2 new DVDs a day and thanks to their selections have been able to explore everything from classic Cagney to some amazing foreign and art house films that I never would have seen otherwise.

I'm glad that came up. I make a big percentage of my income selling DVDs, and I still just LOVE Netflix.
They have a HUGE selection of old movies that you just aren't going to find on the shelves in local stores. There are a lot of movies that you'd never actually PAY for, but are great to watch for cheap.
Try it. If you watch 'em quick and send 'em right back you can easily get 20 movies a month for your $20.

Thanks all for your help. I am going to look at the movies y'all suggested and see what I come up with. (Hope I can get some cheap! - Just because I do ebay, these kids think everything is practically FREE ...haha..guess again.) Looks like some good suggestions!
