Hi
You said you wanted an update

This is weird, I sent an email, to where they specified on replacements.com and even put Please Help ID this pattern, and in the body of the email, asked them if they knew the pattern, with attached photos

I got this today:
First part was my name and address, and canned message ... then:

Is this the ID of the pattern? N219 by Noritake GREEN BORDER,SCROLLS FLORAL SPRAYS

?

But in the email above, they say they do not have any in this pattern

Is this the pattern number? or a number that replacements assign to it?

Thanks!

Hi NearTheSea,

If your pattern looks like this one, the pattern goes by just a #. I think before 1948 or so lots of patterns weren't named.

Hi kiara

No, that is what is confusing.

They added my plate on their patterns list, I guess? .. I clicked on your link, its the one in the email. That is one of the pictures I sent them, but they tried zooming too much and its a little bit blurry!

What I don't understand, is they named it themselves? or what? I am almost positive that is the pic I sent them.

So do you know what is up with that? That number is the pattern name?

OK, I just checked the price guide. N219 is not listed. Which means this an unknown pattern. That is why they are making a copy of your email picture. It means they have never seen this pattern before. I don't think anyone will be able to help you ID this. Sorry, but this has happened to me before.

Sanmar, since you're the china expert, does this mean that it's a pre-WWII pattern and the records were lost in the war? Just curious....

BTW if Replacements doesn't have something, does that pretty much mean that you're SOL? We have 4 place settings of Lenox Princeton, and I was trying to add to it. All Replacements has is a very poor picture of it, which doesn't give the true colors at all. Do you have any suggestions on how I could acquire some more pieces, or is it pretty hopeless? (I believe they stopped making this pattern around 1940.)

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Thanks for suggesting them Sanmar. Kind of makes this whole thing more mysterious.

I did put up the sugar and creamer, they are in perfect condition (as is *most* of the other 90 or so pieces)

Thinking of ending the auction, or hoping they don't sell, because I kind of like the set!

Re: lost records. No that isn't always the case. There are many old Noritake patterns that never had a name. They used to turn out several of a particular pattern & then change it slightly & turn out some more. The idea was that a department store had too many of the same pattern only a few would sell, because Mrs. Jones didn't want a pattern that Mrs. Smith had.
