Hello Everyone!

Quick Question.

Now that Ruby Lane has discontinued their Free Auction Counters, I need a free and reliable auction counter for my auctions on Ebay. Any out there?

Thanks in advance,
Phil

You may want to try this one...

http://www.bidstalker.com/main/

I haven't tried it myself as I use Vendio's Sales Manager to do all my auctions which includes a counter.

You could also do a Google Search http://www.google.com/ and just type in "Free Auction Counters" and see what comes up.

Hope that helps!

Lynne

Hi phbroz,
Try www.andale.com
They have free counters and also offer other services. I use the counters only.

I don't understand you who come on this chat room, but don't use Vendio services. Personally I think you are a bunch of cheapskates. The auction count works great, but if you are so cheap that you don't use Vendio, the screw you.

The Vendio men are so aggressive and outspoken tonight. Is there an increase of testosterone before the full moon or what? rofl

There was a time when promoting a competitor's services on these boards could result in a warning or suspension by a moderator. I suppose the rule is still in effect and it could get a little warm in here if the wrong person read it. I have never used any counters other than Vendio's. One of the features I like is that the counters will stay in a folder on Vendio's site indefinitely until you manually delete them. I have every counter I've used for the past 2 years and I can refer to them to see what kind of interest a specific widget aroused the last time I listed one. It proves quite useful when you list a wide variety of items.

O.K.,

How do I get a counter HTML from Vendio that I can paste into my Item Description.

Anyone know?

Thanks,
Phil

I have'nt found ebay's counters to be very reliable at all. I was using Rubylane's free counters until, well, we all know they stopped working. It would be great to find a free one to replace the non functioning one. Boo Hoo. What is a lowly seller like me going to do.

I don't understand you who come on this chat room, but don't use Vendio services.

You have to recall that in the dotcom mania days, content was everything. Anyone could set up a web site; the best way to drive people to that site was to provide content. The cheapest way to provide content was and is to get other people to do it for you, i.e. a discussion board.

So you see, not only are we non-Vendions allowed to post here, we are invited and welcomed. There is always the possibility that while we're hanging around here one of us will be seduced by the superior auction-managing services provided by Vendio. Vendio management is well aware of this, I assure you.

For my part, I see no point in paying Vendio to do tasks if I can get my captive programmer upstairs (desk sign: WILL WORK FOR FOOD) to create software that does it for free.

Personally I think you are a bunch of cheapskates.

And proud of it.

I have HAD IT!!! Ruby Lane's free reliable counters are gone. (More reliable than But Bay's) Had to resort to using ebay's. They only work part of the time. Don't know programming and very little html. PLEASE , if anyone can help me put a reliable counter on my auctions, please let me know.

Paloma:

The best auction counter service available is Sellathon. It is $49 to $89 per year depending on the number of simultaneous auctions you run. Check out the 30 day free trial at http://www.sellathon.com You can modify the code to remove the small add they include and this is allowed.

Ye can remember all ye want to.......doesn't change the reality of:

I've been bringing home da Bacon fur about 6 mos with nary a problemo!

The only caveat is to NOT display any BB logos, as Meg developed an insectoid-suppository over BB after he exposed some security flaws (surprise!) in feeBay's sw!

the reason I use vendio at all is for the counters, and the ease of watching all my auctions- I can import the auctions from my other IDs too.

Right you are tom, I started to use Bacon Butie when you told us here about his watch script, I use Vendio so I did not need anything else. BaconButie rocks! recently I wrote him an email ans asked a question not even pertaining to his offerings, it was about converting a pdf for printing. He responded immediately and said send it over I will have a look. He just added some new tools also. He states these are for you to use gratis, but you can make a donation. I sent a donation, believe me it was well worth it.He also suggests that you do not put his logo in your auctions. He seems like a nice family man.
